I know some of OUR players are weak and soft, butt really if they cant take Message Board Banter, then check OUT!!
As for ANY Momma posting, same0, if you are going to engage, then take it.
THIS is entertainment! That's ALL it is.
Except IT has grown to be worth a lot of JACK to College Presidents and Trustees that MUST now bow down to it.
And when I spend my Entertainment Dollar for game, I am going to comment, critique and/or ***** about the "performances" on the field.

You do realize voting an incumbent President out doesn't mean one wants the USA to fail? I do not see anyone rooting against The Vols, I see people overstating the obvious that we are a mid tier SEC team at best, near the bottom at worst, after 3 years with Dooley as a HC he is still winless vs ranked teams. I think we also have 1 road SEC win vs Vandy in his 3 years as well. Thats not rooting against him, its just a fact.

Not calling names like you, just pointing out the painfully obvious fact that we will lose most of our SEC games this year, again, and be 6-6 or 7-5 a best, again, and some people will just say "Aww shucks" and some will be vocal about it. Such is life.

The problem with this is we lost one game to a pretty good FL team. Maybe we should have won or could have won, but at the end of the day, it is one game. I am not going to sit here and say I am not concerned about how this season will turn out, but we have lost one game to a good opponent.

Lets just see how this season plays out. There is enough talent to win most of the games on the schedule. I don't think this will happen, but we do have talent and we do have some experience now.

Fans are so irrational. This board has gone from how awesome we are, and we will beat FL, to we basically won't win another meaningful game this season. Bama is the only team on the schedule who has us beat on paper , but there is a reason we play the games.

I have always felt message boards can hurt a program. Players, their friends and family read them. Recruits read them. This constant whining about a loss to FL and a bad half against Akron is tiring.

I like reading discussions about the Vols, the players, coaches, schemes, etc, but lately its just whining.

it's pretty apparent that the players read several of the msg boards

Mount McCullers was talking about it too

the guys know what we're saying, I'm sure the recruits check it too

If they are, I hope they see that we want them to have a leader deserving of the title, and skilled enough to develop them into star athletes with positive mental attitudes. I appreciate everything they do for UT, but still contend Derek Dooley is further in over his head then Jim Bob Cooter!

I have always believed that many of the "fans" on here are trolls from rival teams trying to tear down our team and players. When "fans" on here hope that our coach will be fired, I can assure that they are not real supporters of the Tennessee Vols. Players, the negative trolls on message boards do not represent the vast majority of UT fans, who support you during the tough times.

Just because one wants Dooley fired does not make them a troll.

Easy fix, win some games, and it won't give people things to complain about. We've been in the gutter since after the '07 SECCG, and haven't had an elite recruiting class in over 4 years. Time for Dooley to put up or get out, IMO.

Palardy, bray and teague are the only players that get regularly bashed.

Well palardy is horrible at kicking through the uprites so dunno if thats because of coaches or him I do thank him for trying

You would think that with the demands of trying to earn a college degree and playing football too, that these kids wouldn't have much time for internet message boards, or twitter or Facebook.

But I'm old and outdated-so what do I know?

If they don't want to read things that hurt, then they should play inspired football for 4 full quarters and actually beat somebody in the SEC that has a pulse. What about all the hurt and embarrassment they cause our fan base when they tank and quit and get steamrolled by our rivals every year?

How would you like to see posts all over a message board talking about how you embarrassed your parents by being a slacker, degenerate, moron, born?

Sounds like a Mom that always let her kid win at checkers. Give me a break, any team with the history and tradition of ours that is playing as uninspired and showing such awful attitudes would have a similar looking message board.

I love the Vols, but will never accept mediocrity. I heard someone say they bet people on here do not run a business, well I do and we employ over 80 people. If my people show the same degree of ineptitude that this staff has shown, I make changes. That is all I am saying, a change needs to be made at the top and it needs to come sooner rather than later before the inevitable happens. In this case the inevitable seems to me to be getting drummed the next 4 games in a row then mailing in the last few. With the lack of leadership on this team there is no indication this will not happen again...and again....and again.

When's the last time you started up a business? Following your philosophy would only mean wasting $$$ in perpetual training of new employees because of excessive turnover...until no one but desperate folks would want to tolerate your ineptitude as a boss...:salute:

BS...,your type drags Bray through the dirt after every game as if he's a horrible QB. WinnIng wouldn't change anything other than the type of thing that would beeched about

They're 18-21 year olds and all they see when they read posts like you regularly make is a middle aged overweight unathletic azzhole

Coaches are fair game when it comes to criticism. They get paid well for what they do.

I see nothing wrong with critiquing a player's play as long as you don't make it a personal attack. It happens at every level of football, it just becomes more vocal the higher level you go. If they can't handle criticism now, how will they face it in the NFL, where it's much worse?

People like to throw around the term whiner. Is wanting to be successful whining? If so, then I guess I'm a whiner. If you don't care enough to be concerned about where our program is, then perhaps you should look in the mirror before questioning someone else's fanhood. You may have a different opinion on where the program is, but that doesn't mean your opinion is more valid than any other fan's. We all want what we feel is best for the program(yes program, not coach, not any individual player).

Any player reading honest criticism should not be upset. They should understand that we, as fans, want to win. If a player makes a mistake, he needs to own it. If someone takes it to a personal level, that's where mods intervene. Everyone should understand no coach, no individual player, no one is above the team. I like Dooley. I like our players and want them to succeed. I love the Vols.

All that said, you can't nitpick the details. Players are going to miss catches. Bad throws are going to be made. Missed tackles will happen. When enough happen to establish a pattern, then it's fair game, but you can't get down on a player for one bad play. Lots of plays go into a loss, to single out one player is ridiculous.

The "players" are told repeatedly to stay off chat boards and not to read the newspaper. I would say that at least 95% of college football coaches in America repeatedly instruct their players to stay off chat boards and to not even read the paper or other media outlets. Very little good can come from a college player following the media in regards to their play and that of their teammates.

i do not post very often, just mostly like to take it all in.i have had several messages typed but haven't posted them for sake of thinking people have the right to speak their mind or voice their opinion.i think that most people on volnation know who most of the people are that make posts that more in line with what most of us are on here to read.there is way too much negativity on here any more & at times causes me to consider why i come here to have to read thru a lot of it.i spend the majority of my time in the recruiting forum & for the most part it stays out of there.my opinion is there are way too many armchair coaches/critics.i agree that we all have the right to our opinion but that doesn't mean everyone wants to hear/read it.i think the posters that make informative & insightful posts are greatly appreciated.i think the vast majority of the negavols, armchair coaches are most cut from the same mold.they most likely never played organized sports, have no understanding of really what team means, can hide behind their computers & spew their negativity & uninsightful jibberish & try to create an unpleasant enviroment.i think most vol nation readers & players can tell the difference.sorry for the long posts,GO VOLS !!! VFL

I think many of you need to by a journal instead of bashing our school, coaches and players for the world to see. If you are part of the VOL Family then why publically ridicule for all to see? You dont treat family like that. Go to Walmart and buy yourself a little journal and write your frustrations if you must. Otherwise.. LETS GO VOLS!

To be fair, she was asked about the morale of the team, she didn't bring this up herself.

Nothing personal against her she seems like a very good person that cares for her son, but putting her self in the position to read and comment on a public forum about it is probably not very smart. And by doing so she better have some thick skin, people are gonna say stuff you don't like and don't agree with. In this case it could end up being her son or someone else she personally knows.

If she can properly handle it more power to her. I just have a felling that there will come a point where its not very pretty.

What's my type?? I'm sorry I don't believe Dooley is the answer, based on his results and performances on the field, but I don't make it a habit to bash players very often, and mostly not at all. Sure, I'll get pissed when a player is playing like shat, but I'm not going to act like a jackass when getting pissed about it.

Oh, and winning would most definitely change the entire makeup of this board, and most everyone who doesn't believe Dooley can make it in this league, including myself.
