When going on a “getting to know you” first date, I usually preferred grabbing a cup of coffee at a coffee house.
Most women offered to pay for their own cup and some even paid for the both of us. I was fortunate, I guess.

I always paid. When I took my wife on our first date (Moe’s on the strip by the way,) I paid for us and she said that was the first time she went on a date and the guy paid for her.

So I guess the moral of the story is, don’t pay if you don’t want to get married.
