Many fans from the old coliseum stopped going when the Tigers moved to the pyramid. Then the rock and roll HOF, which they were counting on, went to Cleveland, iirc.

The only thing I miss more than The Mid-South Coliseum is Tojo Yamamoto.

Security systems.

You should have a lot of clients on her street then.

I grew up playing ball on that court at Balmoral with a kid named Orien Watson. Full court 9 foot goals. Damn, there used to be some good games there. 20+ kids waiting to play, and if you couldn't hang, there's a good chance you were asked to sit down and watch.

Of course we are talking about 1982-83ish

But dont put any coins in the fountain. Security guard scared the crap out of my 7 yr old. I gave him a quarter when he asked for it. He threw it in, security guard came running over, pushed him back a little and went into the fountain fully clothed. Told me that ducks could choke on it so he went in and got it.

My mom is from Memphis. I have been there many times over the course of my life and I would not live there. If I didn't have family there I would never go. I have already seen Graceland, Beale Street, and the Pyramid. If you are not going for these attractions I would advise against it.

I went down there last year to check out the great flood and go to a Grizzlies playoff game. There was a puddle on Riverside drive
