Memphis Tailgating

There is a new area that Memphis just built called Tiger Lane where most of the tailgating happens, however you have to have a parking pass to get in there, a "green pass" will get you in. Really close to there is a Purple lot that is accessed off of East Parkway and you can pay $10.00 to park. It is near the Pipkin building which they open up for restroom use so its a good spot.

Certainly doesn't hurt to be packing....at a minimum be very aware of your surroundings, the stadium is not in a great part of town.

Speaking of Germantown, hit up The Commissary for the "real" best BBQ in the Memphis area. It's off of Poplar and old Germantown by Gtown HS. The nachos are great!!

From the looks of things around town I imagine the entire scene will be Vol fans. With basketball starting up and the Tigers being absolutely horrendous in football even the hard core fans are selling their tickets.

Just park anywhere around the stadium and it'll be easy to find a friendly party. It's not spread out like tailgating in Knoxville. The stadium is surrounded by residential areas so all 60K people will be in the adjacent parking lots.

The entire 50 mile radius from the center of Memphis is a desolate s**thole. Good luck with the tailgating.

And this is wrong. The direct surrounding of the stadium is basically barns and livestock pens. It smells like ass. It looks like ass. Just par for the course for Memphis. When I went to the MTSU-Memphis game a few years ago the alumni chapters of both schools had parties going on in barns with concrete/dirt ground. Horrible.

Well at least they did something that was about 30 years overdue, and I gladly will. Memphis is the a**hole of America. One of the worst cities in America. Period.

And you are full of crap.
My friends and I will be tailgating on the southwest side of the stadium between the stadium and the Mid South Coliseum. There is a huge blue bus and a smaller camper on 20 parking spaces surrounded by silver guard rails. Stop on by and say hi.

Thank you George Lapides. lol

We are planning on setting up in Tobey Field but with Tiger Lane open, I am not sure if we will try and get somewhere closer or not.
