Memphis sports radio is garbage

Mo was great. He used to get pissed at callers for saying that Maroon 5 sounded like a boy band. He was a big fan of theirs at the time.

One of my favorites was when people would call up to innocently request a song and end up in a completely insane screaming match with him. Then after all that, he'd play their request like nothing ever happened. It Used to kill me!

Anyone who hates Memphis is more than welcome to come spend a weekend here and I'll show you around.

(2) You are pointing out one season in particular in regards to Memphis' bball schedule. More years than not their schedule out of that miserable excuse of a conference they are in is average at best.

OK, let's look back a few more years. Average? Don't think so --

2010-2011
Kansas, G'Town, UT, Gonzaga, LSU, Miami

2009-2010
Kansas, Syracuse, UT, Gonzaga, Oakland

2008-2009
G'Town, Syracuse, UT, Gonzaga, Cinci, Seton Hall, Xavier

2007-2008
UConn, Arizona, USC, G'Town, Gonzaga, UT, OKL

2006-2007
Kentucky, Ga.Tech, Arizona, UT, Cinci, Gonzaga

2005-2006
Duke, Texas, UCLA, Bama, Wisc. Mil, Zaga, UT, Winthrop

You are Volnations steaming dump after a huge Taco Bell dinner.

Poor squirrel. How much of that epussy have you landed so far? You have the distinguished honor of being the most worthless poster on the entire board. Have you ever posted in a sports forum? Do you know what a sport is? Are you ever going to bring back your alter ego Behr? I miss all the make believe chef stories. It must be exhausting posting under different names though.

If by Fortune 500 companies you mean murderous gangs, I say Memphis. Should I pm you my address?

I suggest a poll be instituted to determine the answer to that statement. You surely are a top five contestant. Again, you are a pathetic example of what is wrong with allowing anybody on this board.

If you're listening to a Memphis sports talk show besides the Gary Parrish show then you're missing out. It's on 92.9 from 4-6 weekdays. Mostly does college basketball stuff but also talks football. He had a great interview with Rucker the other day about Josh Pastner and the Tennessee-Memphis series in basketball.

My favorite quote from that whole bit was how Memphis fans really do care about that series because "They're little brother and they get their asses beat a little in football".

If you listen to 560, that is your own fault.

Chris Vernon - 730am 3-6pm
Gary Parrish - 92.9fm/680am 4-6pm

Sadly the two best shows are on at the same time.

Greg and Eli (Midday 560) are ok and I will listen to Lapides's show if he has Sexton on but other than that you are limited to Chris and Gary.

I can't believe Weinberger was even mentioned. He is in there with Rainey IMO......can't listen.

I miss Dan Wolken's midday show.

As for the sports talk radio in Memphis sucking up to the Tiger fans....most Tigers fans hate a majority of the media because they always think they are bashing the Tigers. Same as most other cities and their media I am sure.

I wish we could get Clay Travis's show in Memphis.

Dan Patrick is where it's at in the mornings though.

Memphis is Tennessee's anus. There will be a colostomy procedure in the near future when a massive earthquake will deposit Memphis into the Tennessee River.

Tennessee River? I'm overwhelmed by your expertise on all things Memphis.

and I would be more concerned about the fact that you live/d in greve and are proud of it. It was like the school profiled potential serial killers and put them in one place.

It's radio, it's entertainment. They say stuff to get people riled up so they will call in. Get over it.

How are they part of Nashville when their both in 2 different counties. Goodlettsville is Sumner and I don't know what Franklin is. If you were talking about places like Antioch or Madison then you would be right.

Oh and yeah Memphis is still a crap hole of a place. The city reminds me of a long drive down Dickerson rd in East Nashville

What's with all the UT fans who bash the City of Memphis but still live there? Why waste your life living in a city you denegrate on the reg?

Life's too short.

And on topic, there is no worse radio personality than Knoxville's own Mickey Dearstone. It's astonishing how much that guy is wrong about.
