Damn, can't we all get along. We're all cheering for teams from the same state. In fact, wouldn't it be great to see all three teams - UT, Memphis and Vandy - somehow make it to the great eight or final four, representing our beloved state of Tennessee?

As a diehard UT fan, I'll have to say only true homers would think we could "pound" Memphis in their gym and have the better team. I have been watching them close all year, and when they are on, they are on another level. One thing we have going for us is that they have been playing crappy teams for awhile now and hopefully won't be used to the pace of the game. But don't be deceived, Memphis is 10+ points better than us on most days...

There's no question about that. But my point was, if I was a bandwagoner.....I would just cheer for Florida since I've lived here the last 25 years.

I respect both schools, and don't get involved when there is a flame war going on between the 2 on message boards. I simply can't drop a team I've followed my entire life, just to suit one's idea of being a "true" fan.

I'm pretty sure, if all teams win until next Saturday, a win by the Vols at Memphis on the 23rd would jump them over Duke into the #1 spot.

This will be a huge game and may make it a rivalry if it's not already (I think it is)

For those who think UM does not play anyone in CUSA....your wrong. Houston and UAB are ranked higher than UK, USC, UGA, Bama, and Auburn in the Sagarin ratings. They have also beaten Oklahoma, UConn, So Cal, Gtown, Arizona, and Gonzaga this year. That is a pretty good schedule IMO! UNLV did not play in a great conf when they were dominant years ago. They did pretty well in the tourney. The conf argument does not hold water this year. The SEC is way down now.

UT has the horses to run with Memphis and has a good chance in this game.

Memphis is not 10+ points better than UT. Its a completely understandable opinion that Memphis is a little bit better than UT. But its very close. There is not a 10+ point separation between the two teams.

Im going by the sagarin ratings with UH and UAB. Houston beat UK and UK is what.....2nd or 3rd in the SEC as of now??? I know Rice and SMU are terrible, but CUSA is not the OVC or the ASUN. Hell...the SEC is not the Big East or the Pac 10 either....this year!

Vandy game aside, UK is nowhere near the same team now as it was when Houston beat them. Garnder Webb beat UK, does that make their conference a strong conference? Houston and UAB would only finish above Auburn, Alabama, South Carolina, and maybe LSU in the SEC. The way LSU is playing right now though, I would take LSU.

I never said CUSA was a better basketball conf. It's not even close. My point was Memphis has played and beaten several really good teams and their record is not padded with all stiffs. SEC is MUCH better every year, even in a down year like this one. Uk is much better now.. no question, but West Va is not as good as they were when UT beat them. Correct?? UAB and Houston are pretty darn good teams. Not UT, Vandy, Miss, or Miss St, but good, solid programs.

Houston is as good as anyone in the SEC West. Actually, there's a good possibility they'd be the second best team in the SEC.

So, I'm guessing Georgia is going to have to play 40 minutes of zone against us tomorrow. We could potentially beat them by 50 if we're hitting our 3s.

They're really, really short on depth now.

I think we win a close game they have had a cupcake schedule with no one team showing the D that the Vols will show.

I'm pretty sure houston beat kentucky who beat the vols , so if this cycle goes full circle I guess that means the vols will win :unsure:
