That game was almost too ugly to watch...and Memphis made it that way. Their strategy was clearly to get our scorers in foul trouble by any means possible which led to some really silly looking flops. Penny stayed in the officials' ears the entire game pleading for more fouls to be called on us when it was his players instigating the fouls.

You could tell CRB was not at all pleased with Penny and his strategy at the end of the game as their handshake was the definition of brief and chilly.

The good guys won as predicted and ...oh yeah...Memphis still SUCKS!!!!

Most Memphis fans around me were okay, but some were salty. They hate UT with a passion. We are the biggest game of the year, whenever they play us in any sport.

They had to spend most of the game playing zone and couldn't really be too aggressive defensively or they would have all fouled out those refs were so whistle-happy.

More than that, their defensive strategy was to intentionally foul us on every play to try prevent motion off the ball. They got called for 35 personal fouls against 22 for us and they earned every one of them.
