Did their defense do something that we weren’t used to? Or do they just play really good man to man? And don’t allow players get off their screens?
Or did we not cut or do our screen fast/good enough?
They played good, aggressive man. Defended the curl well. Muscled Bowden so he couldn't come off tight on it. Their big guy did a good job stepping up in the middle on it as well. Needed to hit a few threes to open that set back up, but just weren't hitting them.

I think the key to the game was when Penny doubled Turner full court to get the ball out of his hands.
He did that when we had james, Pons and Bowden all out of the game with 2 fouls but none the less was a hell of a call in the first half
One can only imagine how this would have turned out if Wiseman had played. As for Memphis defensively they had far more guards to run at Turner to wear him down. They were prepared game plan wise to take away the Vols strength which is guard play.
