It's in the middle of the interview. He says that Memphis fans should root for Tennessee and Tennessee fans should root for Memphis so we can play in the elite 8 to see who goes to the Final 4. He also says because UT beat Memphis by 20, we should root for Memphis. :)


Thoughts? Are you going to root for Memphis?

I could care less what the coach of the 2nd best team in the state says I should do. In the words of Bruce Pearl, "I'm saying that's a bull$#!% question!"

There are some Vols fans on the NCAA boards calling for the coaches to get the UT fans to root for Memphis and vice versa. They said it would be the only way the fans would listen.

I'm pulling for Memphis, because I would like to play a Rival in the Elite 8, plus I think we have a better chance of beating Memphis than Texas A&M if UT beats Ohio State.

Awwww, well why don't he plead that you pull for Vanderbilt while you're at it? Kevin Stallings would be a great manager in professional wrestling. What an a-hole.

Only reason Coach Cal wants to play Tenn in the Elite 8 is for the simply reason he thinks he can beat the Vols. He wants revenge and he wants it on a big stage, a National audience

:lolabove: personally, i could care less........i'm not too fond of having the possibility of two rematches in post season....but either way....i'll just be happy if we win Thursday....and worry about who we'll play after that, well, after that.:thumbsup:

We very well could have rematches for the rest of the tourney if the chalk picks prevail. Of course if all of the chalk picks prevail, UT won't have a game after Thurs. night.

I like upsets.

It's not revenge, its cause UT is pushing into Memphis and he thinks he can show taht Memphis State is still Top dog

Just as long as Tenn. wins, I don't care too much about the others. Even though if Memphis & Vandy lose, I'll be correct on my bracket.:)

We will be the underdog in any games we play from here on out. The unaffiliated NCAA crowds usually cheer on the underdog in any given match. Given this, why would we cheer for Memphis? Coach Cal just thinks that UT would be the better match-up for his Tigers than OSU
