Memory Care & Assisted Living Facilities in Knoxville

Does anyone have first hand experience and/or recommendations? I think we may have to move my father soon (end of the year) and he will want to stay around Knoxville. Been fighting this for too long

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, pj. We are in the Tri Cities area, and my father passed away on Tuesday in an assisted living facility. We have some friends from out-of-town this weekend, and I will ask about Knoxville and let you know if anyone has a recommendation.

Well I have heard that one of the Best ones is in Maryville and I believe that it is called life care. The second best one that I hear about is NHC Farragut.

The NHC is Kingsport is highly recommended....didn't know there was one in Knoxville....we were unable to get dad into that one, though.

I have a relative in Morning View in Maryville. It has been good. Had another relative in Little Creek, also good experience. At least at the time, probably a decade ago, Little Creek (in Knoxville) had a waiting list.

Best of luck in finding one that suits your dad.

My heart goes out to anyone suffering with mental age related decline - so tough for the family also. My parents are headed down that path and I’ve been doing some research on anything that might help. Some folks think vitamin E helps slow the progression. Anyone have any success stories to share on possible treatments? TIA

I have two relatives at Morning Pointe Powell. Staff for most part seems to care. Lots of activities. Food is good. Memory Care is next door and I have not visited their facility, but they share a parking lot.
I think the memory care is called The Lantern

My father has been receiving Leqembi infusions for a few months now. Not sure if I have noticed any improvement yet but he also doesn't seem to be getting worse yet.

My dad is doing a trial through the Pat Summit clinic. I'll have to look up which one but it doesn't appear to have helped him much.

I spoke with a friend who has gone through this over the past 5 years. He said Morning Pointe (LC and Harden Valley) are very nice, well-staffed, but expensive. Prosperity Pointe at Cedar Bluff is less expensive and the facilities are "only OK."

Thanks for the input as the morning point facility was definitely on the list. Thankfully my dad appears to have planned well and we don't see money being an issue. Just want someone that will take care of him as we are so far away

My dad lived at the Farragut NHC and he liked it a lot. He was in the one behind Bearden first a few years before that. He sold his house in 2007 and passed peacefully in 2016 at 93 so this is a bit dated.

Another nod to Morning Pointe. Good experience....well...as much as you could hope for under the circumstances.

Sorry to hear that. My granddad was at NHC Farragut until he needed hospice nursing. We had a very good experience there, but that was several years ago.

I'm reaching out to a family friend who is an RN and worked in memory care here for a little more help. Will report back.

South Knox senior living has one and it’s fairly nice. The Latern is good as well.
