Have we ever had a game with LSU that didn't rip someone's heart out?

The Florida NONcatch should have been on this list if the referee didn't blow it. Vandy grad, just sayin...

What about the Gaffney non-catch in 2000 FL VS. Tenn?
The "so called launching" penalty against UNC in the Music City Bowl?

The George Teague play is still the greatest defensive effort I've ever seen, whether it counted or not. Miami got to keep the ball, got an extra five yards, and then promptly quit.

The Music City Bowl call was worse.....at least the 13 man penalty was legite

I know the NFL and college football are different, and these 2 plays happened 10 years apart, but how can you Gaffney's a catch and Calvin Johnson's game winning/ losing play for the Lions against the Bears last year a non-catch?

That just blows my mind.

The September meeting with them in '01. It was the first game after 9/11 and is probably in my top 5 best experiences I've had at Neyland. Electric atmosphere, 2 top 15 teams, Kelley Washington setting the school record with over 250 receiving yards and a solid win for the Vols. That was a fun night.

Keep in mind LSU only lost that game by 8 points and had the ball late in the game. A TD and 2-Point conversion and it goes to OT. Thank goodness the good guys stopped them.

UT 45, LSU 39, Oct 28, 1989. A terrific game of non-stop scoring for fans of wide open football. Carl Pickens returned a KO for a TD just before halftime. After that you knew we'd win, because even if they scored, we'd answer in turn: the Bengals couldn't stop Chuck Webb or Andy Kelly-to-Alvin Harper. LSU QB Hodson led a 4th quarter rally, but it was too little too late.

Despite the last decade, we still lead the series with LSU 20-8-3 (see Tennessee vs Louisiana State 1869-2010 ). Five of LSU’s victories have come since 2000 and two of them in SEC championship games (2007 and 2001). LSU beat us 7-0 in 1933 and didn’t beat us again until 1974. From 1925-1993, we were 18-3-3. Except for the last decade, we have absolutely owned LSU.
