When people say you are a joke, they aren't referring to the talent of your players or coaching staff; they are referring to the fact you play on a blue field, you are in the WAC, you play on Tuesdays, you can't sell out your small stadium when you are 3rd in the nation, and a degree from your school is a glorified associates degree.

Might be off topic, but there's not much fun to talk about on Rocky Top.

I like the blue turf but they definetly need a new stadium. actually we sit over 100,000 and have a losing record and I just heard since 1986 they are 74-1 on the blue turf.

Sure they play in the WAC, but they are doing what any good team would do to a conference like that. They are demolishing it. The blue turf is unique. I like it. On a side note, former Vol Lennon Creer playing for La. Tech tonight.

Ok so how good of a team does it take to demolish the WAC? Pretty sure UT would have some decent success in that schedule.

We would probably be looking at 5-2 right now if we played in the WAC. Maybe 6-1. I guess I should have mentioned that not only do they demolish their bad conference, they take on decent out of conference teams and beat them as well. They also have a better record in BCS games than we do. This team is good. Don't let the bad conference (which they are leaving) fool you.

But leaving for what? A Mountain West with no Utah or BYU? Even TCU has had rumblings of leaving.

Their in-conference scheduling is about to improve from "terrible" to "bad."

Why they didnt swing Creer wide right is a joke. Tailer made TD. Coaching fail.

The debate isn't whether or not Boise is a good team, they clearly are. It's that there going to be other teams as good at the end of the season who have much more merit in their schedule than boise does.

After how we played against a team like UAB, I don't agree at all that at worst we would be 5-2 in the WAC. All we have done this season is beat a 1-aa team, lucked out against UAB, and get blown out by almost everybody else. It doesn't say a whole lot about our team when our laurels rest on a moral victory in Baton Rouge. I'm excited about what the future hold for UT and will be a Vol fan forever, but right now it would be a stretch for us to even compete in the WAC.

If the WAC is that bad, what does it say for UT to hire a coach who didn't even have a winning record in it?

If Tennessee had orange turf you guys would be drooling all over it.
I do admit Boise State should have to play in the whites when they play at home.
