Melvin McBride commits to Tennessee

I'm not surprised that CJP is possibly taking 5 OL. This is an important class for building the OL. Same is true for DL. Getting McBride gives the class a better balance since he will be either a center or guard. He has the quickness for either position. Once Wright commits, CWF will be one happy coach!!! That's an excellent class and a boost for future offenses.

It’s a illusion. We have more commits than most schools so once those schools start filling their classes we will fall a lot. We will finish 15-20. Look at our avg player rating, it’s lower than several schools ranked below us they just have less commits
Not really an illusion. You are looking behind us without looking ahead of us. Clemson is 2 spots in front of us and has 3 more recruits and a lower average. LSU is one spot in front of us with 1 fewer recruit and a lower average. A&M is number 3 but has 25 recruits (right now) but barely has a better average than us. So if you look around us we may get passed by someone but we may also pass someone especially if we can pull some recruits like Wright in.

If we swing two more 5 stars in Wright and Crouch from SC I think we will hover in the same area if not move up to top five.
Also, remember, we had a 3 star invite walk on this year, I wouldn't be shocked if we have some of those on this list that could afford to do it until a spot opens in the 20 class..

Exactly, with recruits like Jaydon Hill, Darnell Wright and Quavaris Crouch looking good for us, looks like a top ten finish is in our future. Especially if things go well for us this season

"Little People" use lifts all the time. Have you never watched Seinfeld? If "Little People" can get bigger, so can big people. Enough said.

I like the 5 OL we seem to be taking this class. Our nastiness in the trenches has left a lot to be desired recently, aside from a few specific players.

Once Wright commits? You know this how?

We’ll end up upgrading some gitshirts and 2-3 of our highest toned commits will be late in the process. Teams behind us will have their own events that affect their own recruiting as well as some above us. We stay top 10 imo and possibly end up top 8.

You are wrong, most folks have as many recruits or more than we do. We are going to be in the top 10 when all is said and done. GBO!!!!!

Does this mean we missed out on the Wright kid?
no. things apparently still good there. we'll just get 5 OL this cycle.

though i'll admit, i was one that thought if Mcbride got in, that meant bad things for wright. looks like, at least at the moment anyway, i was wrong...and i'm ok with that.

BOOM.

We were in the top 10 before we took this kid. But, as we take more guys like DWright, I guess that will bring us down?

ha, right!

i'm not worried about the ranking. there's some pretty big fish out there still, wright and crouch probably the biggest, that we're still in good shape with. they have spots, and will have them no matter what.

other guys like Hill (who i think has a spot too), Bogle, Knox/Curry, the DL from Starkville or DL from Memphis (Anderson) could also figure in.

that means a couple folks currently committed have to go. and they likely will before it's all said and done....i think there's two on the verge right now. the ranking will take care of it self, and as we've seen all off season, is fluid.

this class is really good. it will be very good when its done too.
