Im wondering if Dooley goes into the second quarter tied at 0-0 with UTM will this board go into meltdown... because last year Kiffin went into the second quarter 0-0 with WKU and everybody claimed he was a great coach at the time... i just hope you guys give Dooley some time

I honestly don't see this being much of a game. I don't think we'll score on every posession, but 0-0 into the second qtr is a win for UT Martin.

I am pretty sure there will be at least some fans who would want him fired before he could come out for the second half.

If Dooley goes 0-0 in the first and we score 28 unanswered in the 2nd I would care less.

There will be at least 20 "Fire Dooley" threads by the end of the season.

I would hope everybody would give him a chance. 0-0 at the end of 1 means nothing. It's all about winning at the end of the game. I'm looking for the team to show up and play hard for four quarters and come out with a win. It shouldn't be too much trouble against Martin, but if it is - the Vols might have a problem.

there will be threads about specific plays that point out Dooley's inability to coach (many probably dealing with screens that aren't really screens). To assume there won't be ones after a whole qtr is very wishful thinking

I'll say it again - the "master" Saban lost his first game @ ALA to LA Monroe AT HOME. That being said, I don't care if we beat UT Martin by 1 pt. A win is a win - that's all we can ask for right now. Hopefully this will be a glorified scrimmage and we'll be able to play some of the 2nd/3rd stringers. But don't be surprised if it gets a little ugly before it gets comfortable.

If anybody calls for CDD's head at any point during this season, they need to just go root for another team. It's not going to be pretty, but it really doesn't matter - cause it's FOOTBALL TIME IN TENNESSEE!

20 might be too low. We could easily play good football and still be 2 - 6.

I doubt we put this game away until the third quarter. Too many new faces and too many nerves for the first game. So, the board boo birds will be out in force.

My bad, it wasn't the first game - but it still DID happen. A first-year loss to a 5-6 Sun Belt team at home. My point still stands!

In fact, that loss came in the 2nd-to-last game of the year. Suffering a loss that late in the year would be akin to us falling to Vandy this year. Yowza.

I'm not sure what would be better:

A blowout that builds confidence or a hard fought game that isn't over until the fourth that breeds work ethic......

I wonder what Dooley would choose.

You guys Who are expecting to put 50 on them can forget it. New coach, new schemes, new inexperienced players. It will suprise me if we score more than 30. Just because we got a big T on our helmets don't mean that much in this game. I am actually more concerned with how well our Defense plays.

Every moderately sane person would choose the blowout. If we are having to work hard in the fourth against UTM, we won't be doing that much more this season, as we'll be out of the game at that point.
