Give Tee the job.... I like the rest.... some of them Tennessee could get

This hire would have about a 7 percent approval rating if it was Currie trying to force it through.

Sure. I agree 100%

I am giving Phil Fulmer more leeway here because well 1998 happened. Not to mention his years as HC. Currie had none of that, so yea Fulmer's leash is much longer and I truly believe he is trying to find the best HC out there for the program.

I work in Georgia, and all the Dawg fans are sweating over losing Tucker. I would not mind this hire, assuming he could surround himself with a very very good staff.

Selfishly, I want UT to hire him so I can watch the Dawg fans cry, and watch their defense flounder against OU. I hate Georgia with almost as much passion as Alabama.:devilsmoke:

I see no benefit from giving a non VFL at shot at the show.

If we hire a HC with no HC experience, the only justification would be they are a VFL.

Jim Bob, KC, or Tee as HC. I get. A non VFL, I don't get.

Yea because Bama screwed up by giving Saban, a non Bama guy the HC job. People need to get off of this VFL hiring, there are great coaches and candidates that have nothing to do with UT.

What happened to mike Leach ? I'll support almost anyone they put in office but clearly fulmer is over his head

Nope .... Leach cant hold a candle to this guy. Saying Fulmer is over his head based on this is just ........not very intellectually sound. (to be kind)

Yet...by that same logic, one of the best Coaches in UT history is now the AD and you are ready to disembowel him.

Can anyone think more rationally here?

What?

Blind loyalty is very bad..... question those who give you reason to question. This morning Tucker 3rd interview gives reason to question motives.

Its not blind loyalty. Its trust in experience and coaching, something most of us do not have. You stated that we ignored the best in the NFL's suggestion to hire Schiano, I was merely making the point that you are now choosing to ignore whoever Fulmer brings in and he is one of the best in CFB history and definitely in Tennessee history.

If this hire ends up being bad, I will say as such, but not until after a season or two of play. Saban had just came off a horrible stint with the Dolphins and look where he is now. Kirby Smart was untested as a head coach and look where he is now.

My point is don't just fit the narrative to support your opinions only. Be open to the fact that according to your logic...one of the greatest coaches in Tennessee history is going to make a hire and it seems as though you will choose to ignore that suggestion.

I'm just questioning Fulmer's list on who it's down to.
Gives major questions to what is he doing.

You are operating on a false premise. Just because he endorsed one guy doesn’t mean that all others suck.

You literally said you trust the word of NFL coaches. Showed you who you said was the best coach in the NFL's view on the coach Tennessee had hired.

Do you lack reading comprehension? The Schiano ship has sailed. Belichick supporting Schiano doesn’t make Tucker a bad coach or bad hire. He may be a great hire. Quit your moaning.

Why nothing about Brohm?
Underwhelmed with the current names. Schiano and Doeren have company with these unexciting prospects. Please bring Miles or Brohm back to the table ahead of the current names...

I’m neither excited nor disappointed with Tucker. It seems he has a lot of upside but I don’t really know enough outside of his wiki page. His football resume is solid though.

I live in Georgia and follow Georgia closely; and my sense is that any anxiety over Tucker leaving is more about continuity than anything else. He's a solid coach, but it's not a big deal to me if he leaves. Georgia's WR coach is probably off to A&M to be Jimbo's OC, which was also kind of expected. There are a couple of coaches on Georgia's staff that would be way worse than losing Tucker IMO.

Belichick vouched for Hernandez

Tucker would be a stud.

And Philip is interviewing people and taking his pick...and time. Currie would run out and offer anyone that would talk to him. Difference is the respect Philip gets from the coaches. Leach is a joke compared to Tucker.

On some of the other SEC boards most Dawg fans seem upset at the thought of losing him.

Their defense has inproved drastically with Tucker as DC. It would be a lost to their program.
