I just seen a ESPN ticker that Mel Kiper is projecting Robert Meachem to go in the 1st round being the #15 overall draft pick :rock:

He knows more than me but according to his draft board that puts him ahead of Jeff Samardzija, Sidney Rice, and Dwayne Jarrett. And Meachem's name isn't even on the board

Also I'd check that twice because I love Meachem and wish him all the luck but no way is he #15 on that big board.

There was an article Mel Kiper wrote the other day on ESPN about WR's in the draft and his name showed up nowhere in it.

I saw a thing that Kiper wrote about 3 weeks ago and he's really really high on Turk McBride

these guys never go where they are projected.

Last year they projected Rob Smith 5th round, he didnt even get drafted. A couple of years ago Munoz was projected 2nd-3rd round didnt get drafted either.

If they project him 1st round, I would suspect he goes about the 3rd.

Well I would be lying if I said I saw that coming, though he is still listed at the #4 WR and in a deep WR draft that's not the best spot to be

Possibly, they definitly need a WR considering that lackluster talent they have at that position

Who would you take, Meachem or Ginn?

I think Ginn is faster but it is a tough call... Pacman is already a great returner so I wouldn't factor returns into the equation. I like Meachem in that situation.

Absolutely!

It really depends on where the new GM and the old hands want to go. I don't remember the Titans drafting WRs high in the past.

However, it's a hugely deep WR class, and Meachem WILL be available for them. I'm really confident in that.

As far as Meachem or Ginn, IMOP its pretty even. Both big play threats and good hands, but considering the Titans wouldn't need the returning skills, add the fact they could be getting another hometown kid, I think they should go with Meachem, but again, wishful thinking

Not that this matters, but I think Ginn will be a bust at WR.

Ginn would not be a good fit with the Titans because they already have Brandon Jones getting better and better. They need the big WR that has the size to go over DB's so I think Meachem would be a better fit. I think they would prefer DJ from USC but he won't be around at 19th. They might trade up but the Titans need a DE more than anything.

Ginn can quickly be taken out of a game. Too many times after he received several "shots" he would simply be a non-factor in many games.

How much can you really gain out of a straight line receiver in the NFL?

I think it's Meach's ability to consistently get yards after the catch that sets him apart from the others. All are great WRs, all are fast, all can catch- but not all can throw that nasty stiff arm that has become Meachem's signature move :rock:

I'm crossing my fingers for him.

I really hope that Meachem does well in the combines, because I think without them, he doesn't get drafted first round. Then Meach and UT would lose out.
