You should look at a normal tuner as well as something like the ATI HDTV Wonder. You could record OTA broadcasts in HD, and the rest in SD.

Maybe there is a decently priced QAM tuner out there... it should do both using your cable connection.

How about Directv?

I'm trying to find a good relation between Directv and my PC. If its even possible!?!?!?

I like what I read about it. It's already on it's way!

ATI
HDTV Wonder PCI TV Tuner Remote Control Edition

The HDTV WONDER is a PCI card for analog TV, free-to-air digital TV (DTV: SDTV and EDTV), and full quality free-to-air HDTV reception. It offers personal video recorder capabilities, with the controls to watch, pause and record all forms of TV to your system's hard disk, or to CD's and DVD's. In addition to analog cable support, the HDTV WONDER with an HDTV antenna allows consumers to experience free-to-air HDTV broadcasts without having to subscribe to potentially expensive cable or satellite service charges.

So with the 3 inputs I should be able to being OTA channels in through coaxial, and DirecTV through the other coaxial or s-video. Then bring my sound from DirecTV to my pc. However though how can I bring ESPNHD, DHD, etc..... over to my PC in HD? Correct me if I'm wrong but I will not be able to bring HD over from my DirecTV through coaxial or s-video.

Good luck. Doesn't sound like hooking it up to DTV is going to be easy.

Well it has a ATI Input Adapter..... The port wasn't a S-Video like I first thought.

But I'm unable to pick that feed up. All I did was bring my outputs from my DTV box into the ATI Input Adapter, but so far no luck. It is driving my crazy right now! I know it's got to be something simple that I'm missing. :banghead2:

There is an S-vid port on that adapter... I've had some strange issues with the ATI software in the past. Again, good luck.

I like the hardware but dislike the software. Is there a high end software that would be better?
