Media jumpin on the Lane train

Gotta say, the vols came out playing hard and their offensive line deserved a LOT of credit today. Hardesty was able to churn through our defense for a few plays thanks to a very admirable performance by that O line. If you guys had a better excuse for a quarterback, you might be on to something great this season.

Furthermore, Monte K drew up an excellent plan for your defense. Eric Berry was perfectly utilized and if it wasn't for Tebow being around, I really wouldn't be able to argue against Berry getting a Heisman. He's just flat-out great.

So... with that out of the way, are you guys really that happy over not getting blown out?? Really? Is that the sad state of tennessee football, that not getting blown out in a romp is now a moral victory? That's pathetic and SAD. Expectations at your place have hit an all-time low from reading these posts, and it actually saddens me that the once great UF-UT rivalry is dragged down by a school that prides itself on not being blown out in losses anymore.

The intense UF-UT games from the 90's and early part of this decade made me love college football, and I gotta say it's pretty sad to hear tennessee nation cheering over a loss. I take it as a pretty huge compliment that you guys are happy we didn't hang half a hundred on lame kiffin.

By the way, Kiffin will still get knocked around by the rest of the SEC. Don't forget how much he ran his mouth about Spurrier and Bama. I'd root hard for UT if it wasn't for that gigantic, obnoxious mouth of his.

If fulmer had left the cupboard as full as Zook did, you'd be cryin' about today's loss on a Gator board- where you belong with the other trolls! Go join them.

Were excited about the future and getting Tennessee back to where it belongs. We OUTPLAYED you, but unfortunately we do not have a QB. You guys got your victory today, our time is coming and its coming alot faster then we had imagined. Not long ago UF was struggling in the zook years, and would take "morale victories". Your a CLASSLESS Gator!

Why don't you go spread your poison somewhere else. Yea Fl. won this one on the way down , while Tn. lost this one on the way up. The proper response should be Good Game...Remember you have to come here next year..:realmad:

What makes you think Florida is on the way down? We just beat you.

I can't argue that Kiffin has the program on a slightly more competitive track (albeit with a strong touch of classlessness). But to say that you guys "won" because you didn't lose by fifty is plain sad. That just reaffirms a notion that Tennessee is no longer a top tier football program and it doesn't deserve to be regarded on the same level as Florida.

Moral Victory? NO I wanted Lizard boots. Your team is good, but not all world. Just don't jump on the Lane Train after this year, you are not welcome...Tool

Ha! Funny... I'm never jumping on the lame train. NEVA!

By the way, my original post was meant to be a compliment to a well played game and a reaffirmation that tennessee shouldn't settle with being happy with a loss... We'll see ya guys in knoxville, hope you guys don't start clamoring in victory if we win by 7 instead of 10.

LMAO @ a Gator whining about someone with an "obnoxious mouth." Do you think we give a rat's a** if you would root hard for UT or not? Take your delusions of us caring somewhere else troll.

I go by results on the field, you go by perception. Florida won by a small margin, but had a large talent advantage. What made the score not equal the gap?

You will make excuses, and TN fans will call it coaching. You can cling to your hope that its just your excuses that caused the close game, and not coaching, but what if it is the difference?

The excitement is not in having a close loss, as no one likes losses, but having a coaching staff instead of the skoal patrol, is very refreshing.

Keep chewing on the media feeding you that Kiffin can't coach, as the media was great at feeding you trolls about a beatdown that never happened.

I'm pretty sure no one here considered any of those Zook losses a win, and I sure as hell remember every "classless" volunteer rubbing those in. But that's the point, those were [/I]losses[/I] and you guys deserved to rub those in.

And if you think UT outplayed UF today, then you simply don't understand football. UT did play much better than most people expected, but UF still managed the game throughout and won. Tennessee lost, plain and simple.

I don't want to sound like a dick, but your school spent 3/4 of a century with those expectations... we have a first string with multiple walkons starting. Florida should have run the ball down our throat for 40 points.

O we are certainly on our way back to being a top tier program. Go look at our recruiting class so far for next year. We didn't win today, but we came out and hit you hard. We didn't give up like in years past. If we had a decent Qb you could be staring at a loss right now. Our coaches called an excellent game for the most part. We just don't have the players to compete with Uf yet, but we are quickly solving that problem. What's going to happen when Tebow can't save your asses?

Actually you don't understand football if you think Florida outplayed Tennessee today. At worst the play by both teams was a wash. A more appropriate description of the game was that Florida out-talented Tennessee especially at QB.

Haha, I love it cause I know you do care if people root for UT or not. Go Gators

We had two recruiting classes ranked below #30, Florida had 4 great classes and Tebow.

We lost, we get that... but Florida was out for blood in a huge way, and didn't get it.
I'm ok with that, this year. This was supposed to be the equivalent of 1995 Nebraska vs. 95 Oklahoma(Nebraska -31... final 37-0), and it ended up closer than Peyton's teams ever got.

Qgator will be dreaming in Big Orange Technicolor for some time...if's and nuts and candy and but's but if today's game is in Knoxville gators lose even with such on paper superior talent - that's why they play the games.

According to media reports it was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop as the gator faithful filed out of the game.

It is only a moral victory but it's still sweet to see all of the media pundits who were just salivating for a beat down today having to eat crow.

Because every single one of you Florida fans here on our VolNation board(strange, by the way) came in RUNNING YOUR MOUTHS for the past week that the Almighty Gators would win by no less than 40. You have a team that returns 90% of it's starters. Tennessee has basically pieced together a defense that held you to half your total yards per game avg. this year, and 30 or so points below your average. Wait until our cupboard is full and we have more talent, and a more competent quarterback. Our talent level is down this year, but our intensity if 1000x what it was last year. Enjoy your wins against UT while you still can, troll

Sporting News said:
Kiffin, of all people, summed up the enormity of the situation without bluster or bravado, but with simple mathematics. Florida, he said, has been together as a team for four years. Tennessee has been together for three games.

Best quote of all.
