it is a gamble...but it seemed to work out ok for Vince Young now didn't it? i only bring that up to say that all of the under classmen are taking a gamble based on what others (who may or may not have the atheletes best interest in mind) tell them.Remember what happened to Jason Whitten? Projected high so he left school early only to be selected very low. TCHFCATUTK was disapointed that he was not drafted high. So Meachem shouldn't even consider leaving unless he's sure he'll be a top 10. This reminds me a lot of the Frank Gore situation. He had a child and left Miami because of how high he was projected. He was drafted low, but now can demand a better contract ala Clinton Portis due to the great rookie season he's having. Does Robo Meach really want all that drama? Boost senior stats and be garanteed a top 10 next year is the wise choice.
Players hire agents early because they can wheel & deal in the months before the draft happens. In other words, look at what happened to this year's top 4. Their agents were already exchanging salary numbers before the draft even happened and the Houston Texans reached a deal before day one started. That's the only thing you lose by entering without an agent. Just don't hire Master P:no:I'm not sure if this effects the situation, but maybe he should try going to the draft without signing an agent unless he likes his spot. Others have done this... Would this effect him at all?
