I think we have another case of poor grades with Meachem possibly. Look back to the Bowl game,
and see his counterpart booted from the team.

Possibly we are looking at another Marcus Nash type player, he is great as long as the QB tells him where to go everytime, but could not learn NFL plays.

His athletic ability is not a question, his devotness to religion, and staying an assigned course is not a question, his character was not in question either.

That leaves one thing.....I knew he should have stayed
in school. I may be wrong, but that is the only thing
I can see keeping him out of the 1st round right now.

Like I said, I may be wrong. But what other indicators are there now?

That this was a receiver-laden draft and he might not fit what a team is trying to do? Nash also had a much better college QB getting him the ball.

My thoughts exactly.

I think the point being made is that Meachem left school early because he had bad grades. I don't think that's the case. He has a kid and the chance to earn millions. He did what is best for his family.

I thought he was calling Meach not smart enough to learn NFL plays too! Amazing 1st post...:good!:

Uh, no, I didnt say he left early due to bad grades.

I said he "may" have poor grades and that is why he was not chosen earlier.

It looks like there was a reason he was being passed over, Ginn is not better than Meachem.

Bowe certainly didnt have numbers like Meachem did.

Look at the teams that passed over him, but thankfully
the Saints are giving him a 1st round chance.

While I think that Meach would have been better off staying one more year, I definitely don't think that he'll have much trouble playing in the NFL.

Meach will do just fine in The Big Easy with Brees throwing him the ball. I was hoping and praying my Colts would get him but oh well I guess.

Sure!!!! He left because of grades!!!!! The opportunity to make millions had nothing to do with it.

I think it is much better for Meach though. None of the focus will be on him with all the weapons the Saints have.
