Just in case nobody posted this yet:

Saints Coach Sean Payton said Meachem is getting close to 100 percent ( after surgery ) but has work to do.

"We're looking forward to big things from him,'' Payton said. "He has just got to keep learning and get to where he is 100 percent, and he can go. There is a learning curve, and for him it has been a little steeper than we had hoped.''

So am I grabbing at straws to say this is a reflection on coaching yet again?

Just fodder for discussion guys...fodder for discussion.

hmmm His coaching at UT cause him to leave after his Junior season and becoming instant rich being a first round NFL pick...THAT what UT coaching did for him.

I did see Peyton Manning overthrow Reggie Wayne last saturday...is that a reflection of our coaches too?

The learning curve from college to NFL is steep, no matter how good/bad your college coaching is. You're definitely grabbing at straws.

Look at the number of Vols that are currently big-time players in the NFL. They all had this same coaching staff.

I coached a few guys who stepped up from 8th grade to practice with varsity. Must've been crappy coaching that explained their lack of high school caliber ability at that point.

He left a year early as well as missed time injured. That I can not see as a reflection on coaching. Not winning the SEC with that type of talent would be a reflection on coaching.

In refence to the quote, my guess is he is referring to the injury setting Meach behind where he thought he would be before the season started.
