Meach going a mistake?

C) Calvin Johnson had the great task of catching balls from the worst 4 year starting QB in the history of football.

Meachem did pretty well with Crompton throwing to him. I'm not saying he's going to go in the draft before Calvin, but Meachem was never totally shut out by a defense this year, even when Crompton was tossing it.

Breaston @ 6 and Taylor @ 7 is an absolute joke to mock drafts, scouting, and anything intelligent.

Breaston may be successful as a return man, but I don't see him getting much playing time at WR.

Courtney Taylor seems pretty comparable to Jayson Swain, as far as I can tell. He won't be drafted that high, if he is drafted at all.

My impression of the game with Arkansas is that the defenders got more than "physical" with Meacham, they were actually holding him on many of the plays. Does anyone agree with that, or do you think they were really just being "physical"? Whichever way, they definitely did shut him down.

I don't think he was physical enough this year to make the jump early. Corners in the NFL are way different than corners in college. When he faces some of the best he might have wished he stayed his last year. Best of luck to him anyways, though.

That's true, they are more physical but it depends on the offense he is in. He could be in the slot or in motion a lot.

you can't hold in on him.. he did what was best for his situation!! whose to say if he came back that he would be able to top this years stats?? look at his first two years, hes going while he's hot. i think he made the right decision

I think Meach is a good WR but the one thing that sticks out in my mind is against South Carolina he caught a ball late in the 4th quarter down the sideline appearing to score but got caught from behind. I think if you are gonna be a first round draft pick you have to be able to out run the avg. CB in college. I hope he's the next Marvin Harrison or that type of reciever...not gonna out run you ever time but will understand the game and run execellent routes to get open.:twocents:

I remember that too. I thought that would be a TD. But I think he stretched to catch the ball, so he lost his footsteps a little bit.

As much as I agree with you BOD, that was Carlos Thoams. He's the fastest player on USC's team. But dont get me wrong, I agree. :good!:

Meachem didn't exactly get caught at full speed. Like the poster above said, he had separation when he made the catch and then lost it as he stumbled.

He made the right call, 1st or 2nd round he'll get enough money to take care of his daughter. He's doing this with her in mind as well imo.
