McNeil was "comfortable just showing up for the games"

And really, really, really lazy. He was more concerned about what he bench-pressed than what he did in games or practice

Who, Camel-Toeina or Jacques McClendon?

Our O-line has been nothing but power-lifting marshmallows, content to set bench press records and get their asses whipped by D-linemen.

Or as hatvol96 calls them, "jelly-assed wannabe powerlifters".

It's not all the fault of the previous linemen. Hell, it's not like they had a good position coach to actually teach them how to do anything right.

Having a good line coach is arguably the most important part of a college staff. For the most part, a dominant high school lineman is that way because he has a great deal more size and strength than his opponents. A college line coach needs to actually mold that into something that is effective against whoever his opponent may be.

When you have a pathetic coach (i.e. Adkins), you see the end result...an offensive coordinator in Cutcliffe who throws his hands up and says, "Anything more than a 3-step drop will be a sack" and another in Clawson who refused to actually believe that performance that abominable actually happened this side of the Big Sky Conference.
