If VN existed back then, after the game 90% of threads would say fire the DC before the defense loses us any more games.

True that, but even then "3rd & Chavis" was a common rant among Vol fans. That said, the Chief had some great defenses. That opener against Syracuse in '98 was an exciting start to an amazing season. :salute:

Boom.

One of my favorite Vols of all time. Does Al Wilson have any kids that are playing HS Football yet? If so, Pruitt needs to go ahead and offer them.

Best one from that year is the Peerless Price throat slash/ tomahawk chop after the championship game

Probably is, even though you could tell that Al slowed down a little bit after McNabb's release.

Yep, just pointing out how much has changed in the past 20 years. What used to be a big hit and a cause for celebration is now penalized.

I have to stick up for McNabb here. His final stat sheet for that game (21 for 27, 298 passing yards, 3 TDs (1 rushing)) didn't even do his performance justice.

I remember walking away from that game game thinking he was gonna be a star.

Syracuse had a loaded team that year. After the Tennessee game, they beat Tom Brady's Michigan team on the road the next weekend, and later beat down a top-25 Miami team 66-13. This is a gif of McNabb juking out Dan Morgan and running away from Ed Reed from that game...
