Turns out, as is usually the case, Donnie Tyndall wasn’t lying to Jabari McGhee with his unflattering sales pitch.

McGhee, a three-star power forward from Hargrave Military Academy, was on campus for his official visit. The newly hired Tyndall was trying to build back a Tennessee basketball roster depleted by coaching change attrition.

“Coach said it was going to be the hardest year of our life,” said McGhee, who signed with the Vols May 2, one of eight roster additions entering Tyndall’s debut season in Knoxville, “but I was ready for it.”

It's not just talk and he doesn't fluff it up. This coach is now in a place and time where he believes he can win an NCAA basketball championship. And you can bet he tells his players that is what they are going to do when they come to Tennessee but they are going to have to work like hell to reach that goal!
