I'm wondering how long he lasts.

He seems to not have a grasp on keeping his players disciplined. He enabled his players to mouth off in the preseason. Teez being on Finebaum had to be approved by him. Wasn't Tabor kicked out of practice for a few days for fighting a teammate at practice? I wonder if some of the Teez's teammates pulled him aside after the #WGWTFA that was put on them and let him know how embarrassing that was.

If a coach loses the locker room, he's in trouble. That's where I call in the Dooley comparison. I remember Bray and company quitting at Kentucky - about the only time I've ever seen a Tennessee team quit.

The Florida team has talent. I feel like they quit by the end of the third quarter. It's one thing to have talent. It's another to keep them all on the same page and playing as a TEAM.

I'm thinking Florida may be heading into the wilderness for a few years. It'll be interesting to watch.

I think McElwain is a far better coach than Dooley, but that won't fly long at FL. They want someone elite and if he wins fewer than 10 games two years in a row he's gone.

His problem is going to be recruiting. He is going to lose his entire defense next year and hasn't recruited at a level high enough to replace them. I think we're about to begin a streak of our own.

I guess it remains to be seen. I remember UF players talking about UT quitting during the Fulmer years.

The last time I recall UT resembling quitting was the '13 Auburn game. That was pretty brutal.

It's certainly much better to be on this end of that issue so far into the '16 season. This team has a ton of fight in it.

Dare I say they should be on upset alert at Vandy this weekend coming off this emotional game? It's been widely reported how hard their players took this loss.

Biggest issue I see is he lets them run the show, like the trash talking, as long as they win. Not a good sign of leadership.

Gators quit in their bowl game ly. It's in their program after 1 yr

He's a much better coach than Dooley ever was at UT.

Agreed. Mac needs a few years...maybe 7 to install his system and recruit his players. He's so much better than Dooley. UF has a real solid coach in Mac. They should be encouraged to stick with him for as long as possible. And I'm totally not saying anything of this because I want them to suck for 20 years.

McElwain will do good things there, but he totally lost his team leading up to this game. No coach in his right mind lets players talk the trash they did and simply tells them, you better back it up. The inmates should never run the asylum, especially in big time college football. Came back to bite em Saturday, and it was beautiful to watch.

Last year Thought he was one of the best coaches I'd ever seen. This year he is completely blind to the problems surrounding him. It's bizarre.

No way. One game on the road in Neyland where he had less talent and a very average QB? McElwain is a good coach. Dooley wouldn't have ever had that early lead or a lead at all for that matter.

One game on the road in Neyland where he had less talent and really bad QB.. McElwain is a good coach. Don't get crazy. Dooley wouldn't have ever had that early lead or a lead at all for that matter

Dooley did have some leads. Halftime was where he tanked. I remember saying, boy... all these other teams adjust at half to us. We don't adjust and it got worse.

I'm appreciating Butch more and more. Glad our guys didn't mouth off (much..)

They're going to lose a lot of that defense after this season. They might go into obscurity for a few years.

Now wait a minute. Mac needs maybe 7 years? Why?

FTR, Mac is nowhere even close to one of the worst college football coaches of all time. Donkey teeth is an azz, but dude can coach.
