McElWain canned for cause, can we use the same "cause?"

Technically, he didn't do bad... he actually has a better record at Florida than he did at Colorado State, and back to back East titles.

CS
22–16
14–10
UF
22–12
16–8

And that was accomplished with absolutely horrid offenses except for a few games with Will Grier at QB. And that fact should scare the hell out of the rest of the SEC. When someone finally shows up again that can actually get a Florida team playing like a Florida team on offense, look out. See Scott Frost.

Speaking of Will Grier, that was the first sign of this ridiculous arrogance in Mac that was kept very hidden from the public, disguised by his "aww shucks, laid back, pretty cool huh, no socks and loafers" public persona. When Mac allowed Grier to walk out that door simply because Grier and his old man were feeling a little insecure and wanting/needing some support and reassurance, he acted like a complete dick and basically nudged them out the door. The famous quote was "maybe you could use a change of scenery." Why not, as coach, swallow some pride, play some internal politics if necessary, and reassure the kid and his Dad while also explaining that he'll have to earn it back. But no, he lets the best QB since Tebow go out of stubbornness and arrogance.

He belongs at Nevada or Oregon State. Good riddance.

Mac doesn't get to determine whether or not a threat is credible. He's obligated to report it to the university first, not the media, regardless if the threat is worthy of all caps or lower case.

And I agree this isn't an issue if UF is 7-0, because Mac wouldn't have to make up fake death threats as a smokescreen for stinking it up on the field.

K, Larry.
