"McDonald's Bag" Departures?

I know we can't know these things for certain, but in your opinion, which former Vol players left the program because the Pruitt recruiting violations came to light? Let's make a list of possibilities here. I think there are some players whose transfer elsewhere is hard to explain except that they knew they'd be under a NCAA microscope if they stuck around. I have some ideas, but here in the original post, I won't prejudice the matter by naming any. What do y'all think? (p.s. I do know there were no actual McD bags. It's just a symbol for the events we're talking about.)

All of them are suspect, especially if they were starters on last year's squad.

No sure how many, if any will be starters at their new school.

I have no idea who was on the take but have wondered if a lot of the bigger name guys who left was because of this. The only argument against that is Bama picking up To'o To'o. I just can't see Saban taking a risk on a kid who could potentially be involved with a NCAA investigation. The reward does not outweigh the rise for the Crimson Tide who would probably be fine without To'o To'o.

What always made the most sense to me was that part of the AD's planned defense was to rid our roster of any "ill-gotten gains" as part of our presentation to the NCAA as a cleaned-up program which had fired or accepted the resignations of all coaches who might have been involved (including the AD who hired them) and already divested itself of any perceived advantages gained outside the rules.

I've presumed that many (if not most) of our departures had been told, in effect, "we will help you find the best possible fit to pursue your athletic and academic goals, but even if you wish to remain, we can no longer allow you to."

What risk, for the kids doing at Tennessee what he's been doing without scrutiny for years at Alabama? Where's the risk in that?

I did a thread about this answering that very question. A good majority of them are starters ALREADY at the better programs..

why not wait on the facts? questions like this become facts suddenly. At this point, no one has publicly stated any player left due to violations. I've not heard anyone even give private hints at that.

It’s a fun story and that’s it. No one has really denied anything else about all of the previous staff’s dumbassness, but everyone denied this.

Even though the OP admitted that he knew the the Macky Dee bags were BS, that is where the thread immediately went.
Reading comprehension is not a common trait among us.

OP's premise is likely. The best players got the money and they are the ones who left for OK, AL, TAM, MSU, etc. Saban didn't have to worry because the punishment won't follow the player. Just the coaches and university. The sad part is that the team and players who remain and did not participate are the ones who suffer. Injustice to all is the NCAA motto.

Is it possible that players left because the previous staff the university hired failed to develop them, and the trust was broken that the university could hire a new staff that would develop them?
