It looks like McCain missed the point in this last election. The Republican base is fed up with the kind of leadership we have right now. If he really cared about the party he would be a lead figure in stripping it down and bringing it back to the fiscal party it once was. Liberal spending and poor leadership from Bush set us back, now we need to get back to the basics that were once the foundation of the Republican party platform. It is exactly what America needs at this time more than ever.

Johnny Mac is who the media put in the republican spot, Huck was a 10x better candidate then Johnny Mac but he didnt get the press coverage

so he gripes at republicans because they're questioning conflicts of interest with hillary.

did he not campaign on this, to get rid of it? so now, in the spirit of "getting along" he wants the republicans not to question hillary?

i wonder how long it will take the press to start fawning over this guy.

I don't believe" this is why he lost".

Their are a lot of people who appreciate his Maverick Status.

He would be "already having trouble with his own party".

If I "ever,ever" was going to vote Republican.It would have been for this Maverick,American Hero.:eek:hmy:

And that is his problem. He does not stand for fiscal conservatism. He would spend as much as Bush did. That is a large part of the reason we are were we are today. We need to become tighter when writing the checks.

forget the Republicans, all I've heard from Obama thus far is fiscal responsibility and tightening the gov't belt. I'm sure that he, like me, is going to demand some accountability from every government office and demand that they show proof of need.

I, would start at the Pentagon, which has more flag level officers than any 230 militaries might need. Let's trim the crap and spend in weaponry and fighting forces. We could probably upgrade dramatically with little expenditure. My guess is that of all the federal government, the military has the least amount of worthless fat to trim.

those guys don't bother to show up. pelosi has all their voting cards on a long chain and she just votes for them. she tells them don't bother coming in. i'll take care of it. they hold offices like parks and recreation center of the south. important stuff like that.

I am surprised Evan Bayh and Jim Webb haven't been more active in taking leadership roles within the Senate.
