MCB- QB George MacIntyre

He was the 3rd team QB all year long. Could we please stop pretending there wasn't a reason?
Exactly ! He had daily practices to earn PT. Do what you suppose to do to get better. If the weight is the only issue, that could be fixed. It’s more than the weight. I’m all for GM, get to work and quit expecting something to be handed to you.

Really wish we had let him get some meaningful snaps. Had no problem starting Joey, but GMac should have gotten an opportunity in a game that didn’t really matter

GMac has plenty of talent, he has one year in the system, and from reports, has a pretty high football IQ. We've seen CJH take guys with decent talent and make them into good QB's. I'm still on board with getting a mid-guy from the portal and developing GMac. Spend the money around him.
Guys he recruited and developed? Who?

You know the coaches that make millions of dollars see these kids every day in practice, just saying.. There is a reason they pursued a experienced QB. Looks like everyone is going to get their wish the way it's turned out. Tennessee may be 2025 UF next year. The schedule is brutal and no QB that has played any meaningful football.
And the same posters screaming to start G-Mac will be screaming to bench his after his first bad pass.

Everyone said the same about Bray. Skinny doesn’t bother me at all anymore with the contact rules meant to protect QBs at all costs
There’s some truth to that but I just looked it up out of curiosity since they’re the same build. Bray was listed 15lbs heavier as a true FR. Maybe it matters. Maybe it won’t.

I remember after Nico bolted all the lets just roll with Merk and GMac, Team Merk post, we don't need anyone else and by the end of the season it was Merk sucks, he's not good, he's hitting the portal post

This. Even after we signed Joey A, there was a lot of VN talk that "he's only here to backup Merk and G-Mac."

I predict once again, we'll sign someone and see VN say "he's just here to backup G-Mac and Faizon" and the new guy will start.

For whatever Josh Heupel's shortcomings are as a coach, he's still light years better connected to what the program needs than VN.

Reading his pursuit of QBs so far this portal season, he's not looking for a backup.

Judging by how poorly the O-line protected Aguilar, I think it would have hurt a lot.

GM could have been killed for a meaningless game.

Arch Manning says "Hello" and 2 years, 5 months later he says "hold my beer".

I’m of the opinion, who cares if he gets killed?

He’s getting paid. If he gets snapped, he gets snapped.

Scared of getting killed, give back the money.

Ok, so at this point, who the freak do you want to start? Have you seen what's left in the portal?

There is. They want him to gain weight. I wouldn't read anything more than that into him being "3rd String". If you want to know the pecking order... who left?
I would like to add--he was a TRUE FRESHMAN, with the guy who led the SEC in passing as first string and a guy with a year in the system as second string.

The old college football prior to portal/NIL was chess. Now with both, it’s 3D chess. It’s significantly more complicated and some coaches will eclipse the learning curve quicker than others. This new model will become a “sifter” with some coaches making it and others not. CJH has had a better portal this year than last. Can he eclipse it fast enough to be successful? We’ll see (and pay him $9M) while he learns.

There's no indication G-Mac is afraid of getting hurt but there's an indication that perhaps Josh Heupel doesn't want him getting hurt because the options for the team aren't good if it's just G-Mac and Faizon.

It's unfair to say G-Mac is scared. Josh Heupel determines who plays and who doesn't, not G-Mac.

I don’t care either way. Some intimate he, or his parents, may have requested that he add more weight before being tossed to the wolves.

And I’ll state again….. no one should be scared to toss the teenage millionaire out there, be it coaches, or parents.

And again, regardless of what the parents want or request, the players who hit the field are determined by Coach Josh Heupel.

If UT pays him and sits him, it's on Josh and no one else.
