THR - Free Mock Draft

seems like every mock draft has him going pretty high and most have him headed to Detroit. Ar first it looks like a great decision leaving early, but can it be a good decision if he ends up in Motown?

I'm not familiar with what they have on D but it could give him instant playing time if this is true

If the Lions do not get a MLB that can handle the two deep zone defensive scheme - then they are screwed. They are screwed in Drew's World and in anybody else's world.

I saw a blip about him on one of the ESPN shows. Seems like his stock is definitely on the rise.

Since he isn't a QB or high profile offensive player sure. He can make an impact on defense, and work towards that contract FA year where he can leave that crap team. I have a feeling he will be pretty successful regardless of where he ends up (barring injury, but that's true with any player).

in todays sportscenter they had him as the most underrated player who should be going in the top 10

It's rather difficult to take anything in this particular Mock Draft seriously when they have Matt Ryan being drafted first as a defensive end and they have Glenn Dorsey being drafted with the last pick of the first round. In addition, while Mayo's stock has certainly risen, most mock drafts that I've seen still predict that he'll be drafted in the late first round or early second round. I haven't seen any other mock draft with Mayo projected anywhere near the 15th pick.

Still a good decision. He gets paid and if he plays well, as mentioned earlier he will get a big FA deal and go elswhere. Even if he never turns into a great player he will have still sewn up his future financially.

That guy who made that is an idiot. DE Matt Ryan 1st pick, Jarod Mayo, and Dorsey the last pick in the first round.

It seems to me that you haven't looked at that many Mock Drafts then.

Jerod Mayo
There are several teams that are reportedly enamored with linebacker prospect Jerod Mayo as he is viewed as one of the fastest rising prospects in the draft, and a true team leader. The San Francisco 49ers, Denver Broncos, and Detroit Lions are just a few teams that have Mayo very high on their draft boards. As fast rising as Jerod Mayo is, still don’t expect him to be selected until the mid-late 20s in the 1st round, so some teams may mortgage a bit of their future in regards to draft picks in order to move back into the 1st round to add Jerod Mayo.
