If we beat Vandy, we move up to #12, and over L'Ville, Auburn and Nebraska, who have lost, and the loser of the Ok/Ok State game and the loser of the Florida/FSU game. And... we go to the Sugar Bowl unless Florida beats Alabama. That is, we go to the Sugar Bowl.

Aaaaaand this is the post that jinxes the game. Lord Chaos has not been kind to the #17 ranked team this year.

I guarantee you they were showed the exact same thing or been made aware of it today. If that doesnt get them ready to play I'm not sure what will. Very possible to finish in the top ten.

guess I'm being a negavol but we will get hammered by whoever we play in the sugar bowl. this defense sucks

First Sugar Bowl since 1990 on the line, if that doesn't excite this team then I'm completely out of touch with this generation.

South Carolina game says "hi". There was much, much more at stake that night, coming off a bye week and nobody bothered to even show up.

Except we likely need FSU to beat UF as well.

Unlike the AP/Coaches Poll, in the years of the CFP rankings:

- Despite losing to Alabama 42-13, 10-3 Missouri stayed at #16 after the game

- Despite losing to Alabama 29-15, 10-3 UF only spell 1 space from 18 to 19.

The CFP rankings appear as to not punish teams for losing in a conference championship game as badly as their predecessors did.

Pretty damn much. And there was a whole lot more to play for coming off a bye week. Jones has struggled mightily to get this team ready to play every week of this season. I sure hope things change tonight and come out of the gate playing our best football.

When the Vols win, are you going to continue being this negative and butthurt all the way into post and the off season?

I think we should fire Butch and every coach we ever have who doesn't win a game that we are favored to win until we get a coach who wins the Natty his first year then he'll lose to a team we are favored to win and we fire him and move on....etc.

Some of you sound like my soon to be ex-wife. Nag, Nag, Nag. Even if we make a sugar bowl ppl will complain that we should've done better. Although three years ago we could only dream of even the possibility of a sugar bowl.
