they literally have a party platform that calls for defunding police and spent last decade demonizing them. DC is smallest it has been in 50 years and down 800 officers..NYC is on track for smallest in 50 years..less officers and claimed reduced crime rates propaganda.
Certainly having more presence will help the police focus on higher crime areas.

Anything that's not insane over-policing is stupidly framed as "pro-criminal" and yet the crime rates in said cities keep dropping. NYC's violent crime rate is significantly lower now than it was in the broken windows policing era, but facts don't matter to entities like the NY Post or most of MAGA
