Yeah, cool. We're griping about an authoritarian currently in the WH and you are talking about a party procedure from a year ago for the DNC? Who ****ing cares? This is one of the worst "whatabouts" in the history of VN. JFC.
Party procedure? LOL! What “procedure” were they following? Oh, the one they made up! Gotcha

You think troops patrolling the streets of major metro areas is gonna appease the population? Who does that appeal to other than those in his base who subscribe to this urban vs rural fallacy?

And the legality hurdles mentioned?
The people i speak with and rent to all want safe neighborhoods. If those people are a guide, the population living closest to the danger will be the most relieved.

The legality is still very much up to interpretation.

I think if we review the 10th amendment, and it’s ramifications… it’s a pretty clear roadblock to this exact thing happening.

Earlier you said the 10th "likely applies". Now it is "pretty clear".

What shifted that for you over the last hour or so?

You don't have to like that Joe Biden was pressured to drop out of the race after the primaries and caucuses had already been held, but the fact is, Biden publicly announced that he was declining the nomination of the Democratic Party for President. Once he did this, Democratic Party rules allowed for Biden's delegates to cast their votes at the Democratic National Convention for whoever they wanted. Those delegates chose his Vice President, who Biden had also endorsed.

Pretty clear seems more adamant to me. Closer to fact. Less ambiguous.

Are the phrases synonymous for you?
I don’t know, never had to compare them. So I guess just take me at my word, I do not feel much ambiguity toward the application of the 10th amendment in this case. Do you?

Holy crap. Nearly half of those voting actually want to have a dictator.

Absolute insanity.

Life in a dictatorship is characterized by the absence of fundamental freedoms, including restrictions on information and expression, and a lack of political power for citizens. Dictatorships often feature corruption, which siphons funds away from public services, leading to widespread inequality and poor infrastructure for the majority of the population. Stability is maintained through coercion and repression of opposition, often enforced by secret police and military forces, creating an atmosphere of fear and hopelessness.

Suppression of Freedoms and Rights:

  • No Political Freedom. Dictatorships eliminate the right to vote and participate in free and fair elections, making it impossible for citizens to change leadership or policies.
  • Control of Information:All forms of communication and media are controlled by the state to prevent the spread of dissenting views and maintain the dictator's narrative.
  • Punishment for Critics:Anyone who criticizes or opposes the regime faces severe consequences, including imprisonment or worse.
Social and Economic Impacts:

  • Widespread Corruption:Resources are often diverted to enrich the ruling elite, leading to neglected public services and decaying infrastructure like roads and electricity for the general population.
  • Extreme Inequality dictatorial regimes create and enforce extreme forms of social inequality, with a privileged few benefiting while the majority suffers.
  • Lack of Social Stability:While a dictatorship may appear stable, this stability is built on repression and coercion rather than genuine consensus.
  • Brain Drain and Hopelessness:Talented and educated citizens often flee the country to escape the lack of opportunity and repression, leading to a significant loss of skilled workers.
Methods of Control:

  • Coercion and Violence Political opposition is tracked and suppressed through violence and intimidation.
  • Ideology and Control Dictatorial regimes often impose a specific ideology, controlling not only public but also private lives, as seen in totalitarian systems.
  • Secret Police Disciplined party structures and brutal secret police forces are used to enforce the dictator's rule and monitor citizens

Well considering the poll is flawed because preserve our democracy is just a democrat talking point. We have heard this for almost 10 years now. We have such a dictator I got to work a 9hr day yesterday. I get to keep my money so I can provide for my family. Heck the last President gives a Hitler style speech and it’s all good.
