This upcoming senior class is deserving of a national title especially Eric Berry, it would be really great to see him go out as a clad in orange national champion. If Kiffin works and works with this team, then maybe. It would be just great if they do win the national title, I think that would send shockwaves through the nation and give a fair warning not to even think about messing with Tennessee as they would be a reckoning force for years to come, especially with me starting school at UT in August, would be a wonderful sight as a junior at that school. GO VOLS!!! and I hope this prayer is answered.

yes and then peyton manning will quit the Colts for that long saught after 6th senior year to lead our beloved Vols to a 7th national title ......im as optimistic as the rest..but we need to calm the flames of passion on thinking kiffin is going to be a magic worker...id say within 4-5 years we will be back in the BCS hunt (if the bcs is still hear....hopefully not)

Why do you think they deserve it? At this point I certainly wouldn't agree no matter how much I would like it. NC's are earned.

Well, "technically" he won't because he'll only be in his 3rd year of college. Unless he has taken more than 90 credit hours by then but I highly doubt it.

Yes, it's too far-fetched. WAY too far-fetched.

Sometime when you get a chance, watch a tape of our 1998 team. Then compare it to our 2008 team, if you know anyone who bothered to tape anything from this season.

You can see with your own eyes that the difference in talent is enormous. We're starting guys now who couldn't have made third string in '98. While I think we should have done better than 5-7 this season, there isn't any coach in the world who could "coach up" our current roster to win a national championship.

Dude, you are way too optimistic. I like it. But, let's be realistic. Kiffin can't work miracles.

I would be happy winning against Florida and Georgia to make it to the SEC Championship. That is a long shot considering we play the Gators at their place. I think we can beat everyone, but the Gators and Tide next year.

It will take Kiffin two to three years before we beat Bama and Florida on a consistent basis. But, I believe he will do it in two to three years. I think we beat all other SEC East teams with the exception of UF next year. A NC is a realistic goal for 2011.

I would love to see us win it all next year. Hey, Urban Meyer did it his second year. If, Bama knocks off the Gators. Saban could do it in his second year. Kiffin would be the man. If, he could do it his first or second year.

Hey dude, the Chucky avatar has to go. Gruden isn't our head coach. Maybe Kiffin will win two NCs and go to USC. Then, Chucky can come to UT to win three or four. I would love it!!!

as much as i want our team to win a NC, i'm not going to get my hopes quite as high as yours. a problem we have on this board is getting WAAAAYYY ahead of ourselves and setting the bar or our hopes WAY too high. we need to wait until spring practice before we start all of this talk about winning games. just beating one of UGA, UF, or Bama is a start. beating 2 is an amazing accomplishment in my eyes. i'm not trying to already talk about NC games and all that jazz just a week after the regular season was over.

berry will win the thorpe award. likely 2 years in a row. he'll still go in the first round, probably a top 5 pick. berry is still the man. and hopefully kiffin and the coaching staff will build up a team worthy of berry staying around for his senior season. we'll just have to wait and see.

problem 1 : "berry will go pro after his jr yr." -- we don't know this. you're getting ahead of yourself.
problem 2 : "NC" -- don't even mention it dude

I hate to be the lone dissenting voice here, but I'd rather not win a national title next year, and I'm not sure that winning one would do anything positive for UT's prestige. :dry:
