"30 former Vols have combined to win 37 Super Bowls. "
-UTSports.com-

I'm not sure what other schools are in the mix with this stat, but it sounds pretty impressive to me.

Discuss.

Mayo and Ellis have air chance now.

If the Giants win, then Deon Grant will have a chance.
He was on the Carolina team that lost to New England in 2003.
If the 49ers win, then Paris Harrilson will have his chance also.
I am a Steelers fan but I will guess that New England will win the SuperBowl because they have 2 Vols on their team. Fat Albert Haynesworth could have gotten to the SuperBowl, but he didn't do right and "Bell-a-cheat" sent him packing.

I read in a book where it said UT ranks like 3rd with most guys in NFL

Tennessee is second or third.

This is a little dated now but here is a decent article that shows number of draft picks taken from 1988-2008.

Pipeline to the NFL? Big states, schools are key - USATODAY.com

NFL teams have selected 136 Hurricanes, more than any other school. Florida State (125) is second followed by Tennessee (120), Ohio State (116) and Notre Dame (115). Miami takes advantage of homegrown talent — 66% of its draft picks are from Florida.

Lol @ discuss.

No thanks. Nothing to "discuss" really. Recruits are more interested with what our team is doing recently (not much), & early playing time. Who cares about past successes? How many men have we put in the league in the past 5 years? Not trying to be negative, just realistic. Hopefully we start putting players in the league at a higher rate soon.

You mean by the refs? I thought you had to maintain possession even after the catch for a few steps.

Nevertheless, the refs still should have called a touchdown due to the new rule that every touchdown needs to be reviewed, so when in doubt CALL the touchdown, the player caught the ball and had two feet in the endzone... it was a raven touchdown:shakehead:

Any of you (besides me) think that a play or two before that was an easy pass interference call?

..........but they still missed an easy Field Goal to send to over time.

These guys get paid too much to drop it or miss it.

Coulda..... Woulda..... Shoulda..... won't get you into the Super Bowl.
