Maybe I was wrong

No, but tools like you that do no research other than looking at the coach in question's previous season and basing your opinion solely on that is a huge nuisance.

Are you related to Chaney or sleeping with him, cause you are really going out of your way to defend him. I just want to see what he has to bring to the table.

Who started this thread in the first place?

You have to wait like the rest of us.

No one knows exactly how this is going to work out. A lot of us are optimistic because after last year that's all we have. Consider that before you start threads looking for reassurance on your own scatterbrained fears about having to deal with smack talk.

You cant judge his Offensive skills or recruiting skills by his stint with the Rams.....he coached the TE's....which last I checked, didnt have a whole lot to do with the success or failure of NFL offenses. I can only judge him on his past collegiate coaching history, and he helped run one of the NCAA's best passing attacks while at Purdue, and helped develop two darn good QB's. No "big name" OC was gonna come to UT and basically have no authority to call plays, cause that is Lane's forte. We will be just fine.

....The line for putting up with smack talk from coworkers forms to the left.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

As a rule, I really don't buy into that retort. What doesn't kill you wears you down so that the next blow finishes the job. At least, that is what a few Pat O drinks did to me last week.

Chaney produced top fifteen offenses six of nine years. He also landed top 10 recruiting classes EVERY YEAR as RC. I say that is very productive! Lane said, ' I will call plays. Unless, I am comfortable with my OC doing it '. Chaney may call plays. Especially since, he was 3-0 versus Saban. While Saban was at MSU.

Chaney may not be a BIG NAME. But, I say he is much more qualified than Clawson. Chaney runs a pro style offense. And, he came from a pretty tough D1 conference. We all know where Clawson competed, big difference!

Anyone who compares Chaney to Clawson = football IQ of zero

Chaney has proven success as a coordinator in BCS conference, while recruiting top 10 classes. He also coached 2 current NFL quarterbacks, one of whom nearly broke Marino's passing yardage record this season.

Clawson coached Richmond.

I dont think so. Another thing to look at is Chaney. Every hire CLK has had was a good one and I see why he did it. But Chaney has had a tough go with the Rams what made him so special, how is he going to help coach up the 3 QBs we rotated in during the season.

You do realize that he has coached before 2008 right?

And what were you expecting of a coordinator that won't be calling plays? You think Norm Chow, or Jason Garrett was going to come just to help lead practices and recruit?

Do a little homework man...you'll join the majority and see that Chaney is a good hire.

That doesnt change the face that I live in GA and have to hear about it. I also think in the 8 games we are only 2 and 6.

Really? Because I live in Atlanta and never catch crap. Sounds like you need new friends.

to think that CLK could turn it around this coming season. I really like CLK, but I think I got my hopes up. When I watched the Army Senior game and the Under Armor game I saw how many guys, really good guys committed to GA and Fl. I mean do we have a chance to beat those guys next year. I cant take another year of losing to both of them.

Throw your TV out the window and go get some excercise.

I don't care how many top recruits UGA gets they still have Richt. While I think he is a great guy hes not cut throat enough of a coach. He reminds me a lot of Fulmer. Your not gonna win a NT or a SEC title anymore and not be ballsy.

I hear you. I live in Peachtree City and every last Georgia fan I know realizes that beating Tennessee doesn't do any good if you can't beat Florida too... I don't hear much lip at all from my misguided UGA :pukeb:friends...

honestly if you look at the schedule its a strong possibility next year that we win 6-8 games.

Hopes are there to be crushed. This season coming up will be an unknown. Everybody and their brother, to include me, will hope for the best. We may lose some of the games again next year but what I want to see is us competing and trying on a level that seems to have gotten lost for the past decade.

Wow I have apparently upset you, maybe you should calm down. All I am saying is I am not sold. Clawson had a get track record every were he went as well. He turned teams around, you know, made them respectable even. then comes to UT and sucks it up. Plus last time I checked Purdue isn't in the SEC. I think the D is harder to play against in the SEC. People that of Clawson the same way and now he is fired.

You're right that the Big MAC isn't the SEC.

For part of Chaney's stint at Purdue, the Big MAC was a better conference than the SEC.

I would be happy next season if we could beat at least one of the teams out of Georgia, Florida and Alabama. 1 Win against those teams would honestly satisfy me for Kiffin's first year.
