But is it me or does it kind of seem like EB is getting lost in the D? What I mean is that he is not really coming close to picks or anything like that. Like I said maybe I thnk he will be around every ball thrown but I was just curious on your all thoughts. I know he had 10 tackles but was never close to a pick.

Not going to question Monte tho. This Defense is Top Notch.

EB is playing closer to the lime of scrimmage--more of a run stopper than true pass defender. His stats may not be as glorious but he's doing what the coaches feel we need. True team leader

He's racking up a ton of tackles. You will definitely see that stat way up this year. As far as interceptions, he probably won't get as many. Mainly because qb's won't throw in his direction.

I don't have anything else to base this on other than my gutt, but to me, it seemed like EB pulled up a few times when he could have really layed the lumber on some players. I see a player getting ready for the draft and making sure he doesn't hurt himself in the process. I'm a huge EB fan, but he seems to have a tinge of Jamal-Lewis-playing-not-to-get-hurt syndrome. It's understandable.

Having said that, teams aren't throwing anywhere in his zipcode right now so I will reserve judgement until this weekend. Tebow will challenge EB - he's not afraid. I hope we see Berry back in the spotlight.

ya I think Monte n staff set the D for the team they're playing. So far its been a run spread followed by a freshman QB. Prolly not alot of tossing it around in either case. EB is the strength of the D and Monte will use him against the strength of the O's we play. When we play a team that passes well you'll prolly see EB batting them down or picking them off.

I didnt see EB let up on anyone. He was facemask first on virtually every play at the line of scrimmage, and some poor sap got introduced along the side line. So, no he isnt playing not to get hurt.

I like the way he is being used, it makes the opposing teams QB have to find where he is lined up every play. I thought it was funny that Prince was looking directly at EB when he fumbled the snap.

I was thinking the same thing and wondering why he hasn't picked one off yet. Then I heard the defenisive stats after the UCLA game; Berry led all Vol defenders with 10 tackles. Here's hoping he can pick Tebow off a few times this Saturday.

I think the only time a QB has thrown at him was during the WKU game and he almost picked it. Tebow will throw his way this week, the record will be broken Saturday

No, it won't. Tebow was picked off as many times ALL LAST YEAR as Crompton was against UCLA.
