I have trust and faith in coach jones with what he is doing but this bringing debord on board kinda makes me alittle weary... So i got to thinking maybe there is a catch to all this, maybe just maybe they give a OC promotion to coach Z and a raise and let them co coordinate. Jmo. Now i'll hangup and listen to your thoughts on this. GO VOLS!!!!

There will be NO official co co-ordinators roles. Count on it. It even sounds dumb.

IMO this is the only way this hire makes sense. Bring him in to mentor CZA for a yr or two. As I've stated in other treads I'm in wait and see mode with Debord.

I glad we didn't bring in someone that would completely change our offense. But at the same time I hope Debord brings some new wrinkles to it.

I agree.....I believe debord will give us the old school style and coach Z will give us the up tempo flashy style

Debord will do fine with our up-tempo style. Zach Azzani does not deserve our OC title in any way. I want to see his position excel first. Mark Elder is way more deserving.

Fair enough but I'm sure you'll agree Debord needs to bring some new wrinkles for our offense. I'm not saying change it but bring us something new. We're nowhere near good enough to run the same 6-7 plays like AU with success.

That will probably be debord

Don't know much about him, but from what I've read most of his experience is with TEs, Oline, and OC. I haven't read anything about him ever coaching QBs. Not saying he can't do it, but we just signed 3 freshman QBs that will need an experienced QB coach because one of them will be the backup QB since Peterman transferred. I actually don't have a problem with him being hired as OC like most on here. That's just my one lingering question.

If Co-coordinators was the plan, and what is officially happening, then it would of already been announced to the public. Personally I don't like the idea, and I think it sounds dumb too.

Not downgrading him just discussing the situation

I understand but folks on here think its the end of the world. All I'm saying is get behind this staff/team and enjoy. Butch knows what he is doing that's why he is getting paid the big bucks.

So many brain deads. Butch was OC on most of his non head coach jobs. See Saban. His DC's are just stage props.

As long as there aren't any more double reverse pass option plays on the 1 yard line I'm content with it.

Even though pig scored on that play, I couldn't help but think "That is the dumbest call I've ever seen in my life."

I'm sitting here reading all this and 1 question keeps coming to mind...... Where has this been officially announced? All I read was that they speculated Debord would be OC since he notified Michigan that he was leaving for Tennessee. It never said in what role he was leaving for. I'm not sayin this is not what's gonna happen but I'm still waiting to hear if from Coach Jones in a release or read a official release from UT.

And if it's already been done and I havnt seen it, well then I apologize for not knowing.

You think he's coming here for our olympics teams? It's clearly evident UT doesn't care about T&F. They certainly aren't going to hire anyone away to come take over that program.

More like training CZ.

Been waiting for someone to bring this up.
Coach Zs comments lately about making the right moves and being here for UTs rise, I had thought this for days now.

Doesn't make me right but Debords admin. resume, would allow for this and then he would probably have an office spot afterwards.

No he's not comin for Olympics or T&F, but there are other positions he could be coming to fill. It's been speculated by others on this board that know way more than I do that Coach was gonna make some changes within the staff.

I'm just speculating like everyone else on here except my speculation differs from the rest. Just lookin at all possabilities. Just food for thought. I guess we will all find out soon.

And another reason I ask this is Coach Jones stated yesterday in the presser that he was closing in on a OC. My thinking is that if it was Debord then the wording woulda been a lil different. JMO of course, it's fr nothing more than thought n discussion.

I agree. Not change it just spice it up.He's hit a good w l record.I know his offense stats at Um were not great but we don't know how much Carr hand cuffed him while he was at Michigan.
