He committed, but his mother did not. Her sig has to go on the LOI as well.

She was to visit UT too but not at the same time as Maurice. Maurice told our staff he wanted to be a Vol. Mom wouldn't make that commitment and apparently tod Maurice to wait to see what else was out there. She never agreed to a visit.

(this paragraph is my opinion only) Given the history of 2 previous commitments by this recruit, and the mom seemingly waffling, and given the fact that there was another kid he really liked that was about to take an offer from DePaul, he may have had to make a quick decision.

According to the KNS GOVOLS.COM, the signing of Childress will leave Thomas out in the cold as far as UT is concerned.
