Now you know why I defended him the way I did. I knew this all along but wasn’t my place to tell everyone on the board why he didn’t perform well in games he want prepared to play in. There was a reason I blamed Pruitt and I’m happy I didn’t have to say it.

Maybe in the future some of these people on here (not including yourself or @sjt18 among very few others) will learn to listen rather than argue when someone on the board with a glimpse of the inside speaks. How many times have I said “read between the lines”?

If he gets his head and body healthy, don't be surprised if Maurer gets a similar opportunity.

PS- JG will be fine until live bullets start flying. That's his obstacle. He's always had NFL level physical talent.

In the little we saw him, it was obvious he was a gamer. Kid threw his body around with reckless abandon, but that’s what ultimately cost him. There was no QB going to receive the proper coaching under Butch or Pruitt. I have a feeling JG and Maurer or any other WB under Heupel would have looked a lot different.

Lumberjacks score first (play by play dude a bit obnoxious).

Was disappointed that when Qb Self went out for a play after helmet came off, we didn't see Brian enter game right then. Maybe later.

I just got home and wanted to see if some football was on, scrolled and saw SFA and thought heeeey that's where Mauer went..other team had the ball so I sat there until SFA got the ball expecting to to see Mauer and out trots this other dude..
I was like man you telling me he couldn't crack the starting QB spot at a school who has football as the 3rd slide on their athletics site :oops:

Well Stephen F Austin's QB is maybe the best in the FCS but yeah..

Their starter is pretty good
