Maurer TD

Did anyone notice Pruitt and Weinke talking to Maurer after his touchdown? It looked like they were being a little harsh to him. Does anyone know what was goig on?

He was "hot dogging" for no reason. Ball control is paramount and Maurer strutted in with no ball control. Yeah, it's UTC, but these are fundamental issues that need to be addressed.

Good on the coaching staff.

It looked like he called a run audible to himself instead of the running back. I think it was about that.

I'm still trying to figure out why Brian was not allowed to throw the ball but JT did nothing but throw the ball. Pretty odd imo

He had the option to throw multiple times, couldn't find anyone open, and ran to limited success. Looked like they also had some special wrinkles in the run game especially for him. Unfortunately, most of it was unsuccessful.

They told him stretching out and not securing the ball trying to score on 2nd down is stupid football. He was playing for himself and not for the team. It didn't matter today, but they were teaching a lesson for one day when it does matter.

After we missed 2 4th and 1’s last week, weinke and Pruitt should realize that short TD’s and first downs aren’t always automatic. Great extra effort from the youngster
