Maurer just got an upgrade....

Baileys interceptions were in garbage time and when the game was out of reach. One was a toss up ball to the endzone and the other, hit our player who was hit before the ball even got to him..... so, no not comparable.

Bailey is better than Maurer in every way shape and form.
🤔. So the 5* gets the pass that the 3* doesn’t? Funny you claim garbage time for Bailey as if Maurer wasn’t playing in garbage time/out of reach down 30 to UF. But since you went 0-2 I’ll take this 2-0. In the same game I just referred to, didnt Maurers int hit DWA in his chest? Don’t tell me it’s not comparable when it’s the exact same thing. Bottom line..... most fans give a 5* a longer leash because of just that.....5*.

Every way, shape and form? Didn’t realize Bailey had the stronger arm. Didn’t realize his deep ball was better. Didn’t realize he’s a more effective runner. I can go on but I think you’ve tasted your words enough.

To first team offense. The running backs that were signed will be outstanding. The fun and gun is here, but still looking for some defense!
I was a big BM fan at one time. After his performances in 2020 it appeared he was clueless in the pocket and his first decision is to not go thru his reads but to take off and run. He likely will be 4th on the depth chart.

Hahaha.
You guys are in for a surprise.
A couple of things.
1) Glad to see Bailey not being afraid of Competition. Hooker came in with more experience and a good DT skillset. Bailey himself didn't flinch.

2) Brian Maurer is very familiar with Heupel. Vice Versa

3) We will finally have a true competition.

In my eyes we have 4 talented QBs. The rest of you all can keep puking on one or the other , it's stupid. You're stupid for doing it if you are.

Let the competition happen instead of hoping one transfers...

You all keep doubting Maurer and judging him under Pruitt's clusterF of an offensive identity.

I'm saying in its wide open. You all saying a true freshman will pass him up. This is a whole new offense.

Keep doubting him tho...

A whole new offense, so freshman or senior shouldn't matter. Shrout should have stayed, Huepel likes to throw the long ball.

Lol and you’ve shown you know nothing about Football.

Even if you are a Coach especially his QB Coach. Just because an individual can run faster and has a stronger arm doesn’t make them a better QB. Lol.

Harrison Bailey is always composed as he showed in the limited games he played. He was trotted out in two garbage time instances where he threw his two interceptions. One of those interceptions was literally with seconds on the clock and he just threw it up. The other was after we were down and he came in to try and do something and it bounced off a receiver who was hit before the ball got there.

Brian Maurers interceptions were in real time. He gets a pass for any ball that hit a receiver and was intercepted. However, the other ones he threw were just bad. He threw two interceptions in the redzone. He can’t stay healthy because he isn’t big enough. Can the kid sling it? Yeah.... so could JT Shrout who has a better Arm than Maurer, but you know what the difference is?

Neither of those two QBs could make the same decisions as Bailey. After those two interceptions Bailey threw he never threw another out of the 4 games he started. On top of that Bailey threw to everyone. He immediately made our TEs look like they knew what they were doing.

I don’t care if a QB is a 1 star, 2 star, 3 star etc, they are either good or they aren’t and Maurer hasn’t shown any type of consistency. Harrison Bailey did. Which immediately makes him the better option.

For whatever reason, Maurer regressed a lot last year from the year before. I think Pruitt was so afraid of turnovers, he had the qb playing very tight.

It still matters because Veterans usually are more consistent about the process and expectations. They are more used to the speed.

Still, a guy like Salter can close that gap because of coming in 8 months early.

Yes. You could see that with Bailey too. He took about 4 sacks that he didn't need to. The fumble/incompletions that happened from holding it to long...

I will agree on Bailey, he did look much more poised. Bailey was very good on the short passes, needs a little work on the downfield passes. But I think that will come with game experience. I have no idea who the starter will be next year. I just seen a great regression in Maurer last year. He did not play with the confidence he had the year before. I believe that was on coaching though. I am looking forward to the upcoming season to see how it plays out.

Hey.
I guess we'll see. It's an open and true competition now.
Might be Bailey.
Might be the Texas Dynamo.
But i like Maurer's chances.
That's all I'm going to say.

I do feel Maurer will have a much better chance with new hc. Maurer fits his offensive scheme much more than Pruitts. But I am not picking anyone to be the starter, who knows Holiday may move back to qb to compete. I don't know anything about his qb play, but he is very fast.

qbs practice, have playbooks, etc.. stop playing with us. why would they trot someone who doesnt know the plays and hasnt had reps out there?

nah, they fooled YOU with a simple read rpo and you thought he had arrived. then, as ive stated....DCs figured he cant read defenses....and in the toilet with turds he went

It shouldn't take a college student no more than two weeks to learn the playbook. It's not that complicated if they apply themselve to learn.

I’m not reading all that BS. You said “every WAY, shape and form”. I just pointed out where he is not. I’m not here to argue so I’m done

Not taking a shot at you or your post. This is an overall statement. But how unfair does it seem when facts are faced? He got in 4 games briefly. Alabama he was 1-1 passing and 1-15 running. So we can’t say “regressed” because of that. He got in UF, once again briefly, where he was again 1-1 passing. So it can’t be that game either. We seen him vs Vanderbilt where he played one play and was 1-22 rushing. That only leaves Arkansas where 2 family members died within 48 hours of kick off, he was thrown in cold(as usual), facing a defense that had already adjusted to a 35/5 run pass ratio. They were bringing the house because the o line and backs couldn’t block it and people say he wasn’t poised in the “pocket”. What pocket?

For those that jump ship on a kid over ONE game, I think It’s kinda “ooooo shiney 😮” and if it were up to them their team would NEVER have a qb.

I was expecting this to say he got an upgrade to Platinum membership at the Mouses Ear after dropping all that money on Neids credit card.

I hope he pulled that "Big Money" post down off of twitter. I think the NCAA might look negatively on that especially if he had any involvement with any infractions. As far as '21 QB is concerned it's anybody's job going into spring. We need a full spring practice this year.

It would not bother me in the least to see Maurer transfer. Of all the players who have been in the TP, Maurer is the only one I think NEEDS to go. IMO, he’s not getting the clue to just leave already.
Just shows he's a competitor, imo. I'm just a fan but we gotta like the remaining QB's and receivers that the offensive coach has to work with. I feel the players are more than happy on that side of the ball.
