You mean the same Mizzou defense that gave up two passing TDs to Arky St? And the same Mizzou D that allowed Towles to go 22/27, 249 and 3 total TDs?
You're right. My bad, I forgot it was incredibly easy to hold UF and UGA to 20 points when you're out on the field 2/3 of the game.
Their defense deserves the credit for the level it's been playing at against the better/higher level teams. Any team doesn't just do that, especially when they have to be out there over 40 minutes each game.
I'm not arguing they're going to win (or really heatedly arguing here either...I think you're mistaking my tone there; perhaps mentioning UT's scores gave off the wrong impression, as though I was criticizing or speaking down of us on purpose). But that defense deserves credit for the level of play its had, especially against ranked opponents.
It also doesn't matter how well they're playing though because that offense is so bad that they might as well be playing with a high school junior varsity team when they have the ball.
Even with an offense so bad that it should be illegal for them to take the field to do anything other than take a knee or punt, they're still - at the moment - 5th in the nation in points allowed, have the 6th lowest points allowed total in the country, 9th in the country in yards allowed per game, 23rd in the country in rushing yards per game allowed, and 11th in the country in passing yards allowed per game.
