Well I was going off of UT websites notes on his freshman year… so I guess they don’t know what they are talking about.

I’m thinking espn might be only showing games he made a catch in..

Love this exchange. The guy attacks you for having the audacity to share facts from the UT website. Tells you that you don’t know what you’re talking about, while sharing rumors without provided sources.

I hope the internet never changes

ESPN and 24/7 both say he played 4 games. If I remember right, he was injured in the early part of the season last year.

He recorded stats in 4 games. That’s different than the number he played in. Here’s the MSU participation list. A game he did not record a stat in. Notice, he’s on the lists

Why would he? He’s getting plenty of playing time and targets at Tennessee. If his ultimate goal is to go to the NFL he’s probably better off sticking around considering how we develop WRs.

Because there is absolutely zero idea what the QB room is gonna look like next year. Meanwhile teams with a set QB starter can go out and buy receivers.

The biggest question mark for Heupel next year is the the QB position. I wouldn’t be shocked if some guys don’t have faith in the one year rental QB trend.

You do not know what you are talking about. He was injured in practice in the Spring and threatened to enter the portal.
It's okay to be dumb as hell. Not great, but okay.

And it's okay to be a boor. Again, not great, but some people pull it off.

What is really not a good idea is to be dumb AND rude about it.

Heh, just jerking your chain. You earned it on this one.

Go Vols!

Just doing a quick glance there really aren’t too many relevant programs (outside Ohio state and Georgia) with projected returning proven talent at QB.
I guess Michigan, southern cal and OU if Mateer comes back.

Any others you can think of that could pitch this? Just trying to think of who is in a good spot next year.

Yeah. But it’s also difficult in some cases for a new WR to come & fit in right away. See the 2 WRs LSU bought this year. See Squrriel.

Mike also needs to be realistic. It very doubtful, IMO, he's ready for the nfl in 12 months. WRs in that league are absolute beasts & make great catches routine. The easy catches aren’t routine for Mike yet.

I don’t want MM to leave but If he wants significantly more money, I’d wish him well.

With the Freshmen they have and the group they having coming in, I don't believe they are going to give him another raise. UT has shown they will deal with you once but not a second time, look back at Tyler Baron. They told him to go ahead and hit the portal the second time. Look at all the WRs they let go last year. I think they will deal with Staley but let MM go hit the portal.

I would think he has a very good grasp of the qb room for ‘26 after spending 2 years in the program. He knows lots more about GMac than he did about Joey to start this season.
