Was clutch and played great today. He is a tough SOB and almost won the game for us with his rushing TD. As much hate as he get's from Vol fans I'm glad we got him starting.

Rock on Matty Ice.

I was getting ready to make a thread about him. He did really good today. He is a very strong QB and he seems to get better every game.

Proved himself to me.
Course I always was a believer. He's got METAL.

Honestly, he was kind of a mixed bag.

He still isn't very accurate as he missed a lot of short passes and he nearly gave the game away with that last non-pick. He is one tough hombre though and he looks like Peyton Manning next to the Jefferson/Lee duo.

Outstanding young man. I like the way he leads the offense. tough physicaly and mentaly. I hope he keeps working hard to get better. Maybe he will improve so much he can overcome the poor coaching.

He got it done on the road in his first SEC start. I will refuse to award LSU the W in my own mind, and will from here out, count our record as 3-2.

At some point in the 4th quarter (I think on out TD drive) simms was calling an audible and death valley was rockin and he came off the line, looked at the crowd, and motioned for them to get loud. I thought that was awesome. One tough mother f'er.I thought he played well today.

now if he'd stop throwing behind recievers he'd be doing great!

gutsy performance today. make 3rd down conversions on offense and keep the defense rested. we're having growing pains no doubt. give us a year or two and we are right back in the thick of things again.

Simms played pretty good today but my gosh the oline is terrible. I hope he can last all year.

I think he gets tougher game by game. He takes a hit an gets right back up. When he throws that ball it looks like a bullet.

When criticizing his inaccuracy... one must also realize he was under enormous amounts of pressure.

That absolutely affects a QB's ability to set his feet/shoulders and really get behind a pass.... not to mention making reads. He put more passes on target that were dropped than inaccurate throws if my memory serves me correctly. I just remember 2 or 3 poorly thrown balls and about 4-5 drops.
