Matt Patchan calls CLK a Bozo

I wonder when MH calls for a public apology, ESPN gives it 24 X 7 coverage, CLK makes posters with those words and places them around the locker room, and someone sells T-shirts.

Wow i love this answer to the question about what he would be doing if he wasnt playing football:

Right now? I’d be making a lot of money. I would just find whatever way I could make money, because that’s the key to a lot of things in this country. Those who have the money have the power. If I wasn’t playing football, I’d probably just be out there, I don’t even know if I’d go to college, that would be like tough and a waste of my time (laughs). I definitely want to get my degree now and do the best I can with it, but if it wasn’t for football there would be a whole different mindset.

He simply tries to garner attention for himself by making statements that make him seem like he is edgy. Reminds me of the guy in class that always tries to crack a joke with the teacher...the guy who never graduates and never makes anything of himself. Sort of an immature guy. Hopefully his decision making abilities off the field are better than what he showed in this interview or he could join a long line of UF players getting handcuffed. If he had half the maturity of Eric Berry he would be much more respectable.

yea he sounds like a real winner. he said he wouldnt even try to go to college if it wasnt for football. "a waste of my time"

UF has got to love a player saying that if it wasn't for football that college would not be worth his time. Also, who interviewed this guy? Those are questions my 8 year old would ask?

After reading that, its kinda like the pot calling the kettle black...he maybe should have his entrance scores checked...that was a weird interview

I like Patchan's chances against UT's speed rushers. He's strong, but quick at 287 right now, and he has a long reach because he's 6'6.

Carl Johnson, the other option at LT, should really stay at LG. The guy is a beast at about 340 pounds, and I think his lack of speed will hurt him on the edge.

a side question to afl and rocks, who seem to be logical uf fans: Do you have any worries at all the ut will come out of the swamp with a w?

It's hard to say with any accuracy right now. If Florida comes out slow like they did the first 5 games last year, and Tennessee comes out loaded for bear and plays a great game, I think UT could win.

On the flip side of that, if UF comes out on fire and really clicking, I don't think there is any way UT can win.

The bad thing for the vols, as it stands right now, is that UT is going to HAVE to be able to throw the ball to win. But Florida has outstanding pass rushers, and an amazing secondary. The combination doesn't sound too good for Tennessee.

One thing I feel confident about is that the team that once again rushes for the most yards will win. If Tennessee can actually move the ball on the ground and force favorable short yardage third down situations, who knows, they could pull it off.

But it just seems like it would have to be a perfect game with zero mistakes and I just don't see that happening in year one in the first road game of the year in such a hostile environment.

We should buy billboard space next to the Berry for Heisman ones that say "Berry thinks Patchan is an idiot."

hard to disagree with that assessment........god i hate reasonable gator fans

are you guys worried about defenses having learned to force Tebow to throw to the sidelines or do you think that is easier said than done.....?

Ha yeah that and basically every answer after that question are pretty hilarious. This guy better be a great football player because I don't know if he has a life after football. College is "like tough and a waste of time".

Tebow has no problem throwing to the sidelines. Just think about some of the throws he has made against Tennessee in his career.

Think about some of the throws he made, while falling down, that killed Tennessee in the first half of the 2007 game.

Think about the long bombs that he places perfectly in front of the WR's. That killed UT 3 times in 2007, once to Ingram, once to Cooper, and once to Harvin.

One bad throw in the OU game does not mean that Tebow doesn't have power. Did anyone here watch the clutch throws he made in the 4th quarter against Alabama?

If Tennessee wants to stop Tebow, then the front four has to put pressure on him. Plain and simple.

That has been the recipe for beating Tebow since he came to UF. Put his butt on the ground. Over and over. Even then, there are no guarantees.

I did.....and it was amazing.

and I also became a Tebow Believer at that 07 performance against UT. He just flicked his wrist, and the ball went about 45 yards to a wide open Harvin, perfectly in stride to a TD.....That opened my eyes at first....and then when he completed a strike while parallel to the ground I was convinced. I just wish CLK can bring in the next Tebow, the next QB everyone wants, but can't have, and then can't beat!

That was just a dumb comment. Can you say bulletin board material. Now while this might not lead to UT win (I don't think there's a chance) but this guy has got to be worried. Can't imagine the tennessee players are going to take this lightly.

this is exactly right. the team with the most rushing yards always wins this game, it's that simple. in order for ut to even have a chance, we have to be able to run the ball.

If Tennessee wants to stop Tebow, then the front four has to put pressure on him. Plain and simple.

agree with this too. ut cannot let tebow sit back in the pocket with all kinds of time, if they do, he'll pick us apart by either running or throwing.

running the ball well and getting pressure from our front four is the only way we have a chance in this game. but i guess that's true for every game you play.

p.s. why are there so many people signed on right now? 3,400 at 2:00 on a wednesday? seems odd.

I guess we've ventured off topic to some degree, but no one will question Tebow's ability to improvise short throws (ala Big Ben). Neither will anyone question his ability to throw a passable deep ball (alot is owed to having great receivers). I will contend though that he has not proven himself as a sharp passer for the intermediate and deep out routes. If a team can keep him honest on the running and protect the middle of the field he will struggle throwing outside, because he cannot throw the ball 30 yards on a string like some more "prototypical" quarterback prospects.

If you take away his strengths (which he has plenty), I think he certainly has his weaknesses. That is why he is projected as a 4th rounder at the QB spot
