With Jones out and Moore questionable it's looking like Rogers, Rogers, and Hunter will be the go to guys. However, where is Matt Milton? Did he play at all against UTM?

Okay. There were many good things said about him in the spring so I'm just wondering what kind of playing time everyone thinks he might see this season.

Bad timing to break a hand and run in to a wall. All the freshman recievers will have to show up.

I find that interesting too. He was an EE, he's had time in the spring to learn the offense more than Hunter and Da'Rick. Coach Dooley knows what he's doing. He'll put the best players in.

Is there any chance they might use him in a spread with Hunter and Rogers ... one of the three has to come out of the game impressing many. That is one thing that I thought odd with Simms. He kept throwing to far in front of the receivers like he was used to throwing to someone faster.

I think that it was mentioned that Milton is a little bit raw. I heard he has the talent but I think he played a lot of qb in high school. I doubt Dooley will keep him off the field if he can out perform Hunter or Rogers though.

Since Simms was over throwing all of the receivers on Saturday night. Simms must have been seeing him on the field.

Dooley is a smart guy. D. Rogers, Hunter, or Milton did not get the touches I thought they would. We also did not get the ball to Riviera but once that I recall. I think he showed what he had to aginst UTM. The Ducks can review film on Moore or Jones from last year, but what our Offense has instore for D. Rogers, J. Hunter or M. Milton is still a suprise.

i was wondering if Tennessee will have to win 6 or 7 games this year to go to a bowl? I know usually 6 gets us in a bowl...but by playing UTM (not D1) does it count as a win when talking about bowl games? I do not know the answer to this so just wanted your opinion? thanks

he is going to have to really step it up in production to get a chance this fall. If others fall out of lineup though, won't be any other choices.

I'm always careful to not pay attention to what is said about players in spring and fall camps. especially, young players. 9 out of 10 times, it doesn't prove out

6 and 6 gets us in a bowl . the martin win doesn't hurt us . you have to play 2 teams in that division to hurt your bowl chances. not that it matters, but duke played 2 last year and would not have been eligible for a bowl. :eek:k:

honestly, they just don't have that many plays down and executing properly at this point. I'm sure with the nicks for Jones and Moore, crash course taking place with the WRs and Simms this week on additional plays.

Its about repitition. I bet, not been told, Simms has had twice the work with GJ and DM he has with the others..

moved to DB but his motivation has been highly lacking at either position. If he doesn't turn it around I'll be surprised if he makes at Tennessee

How many freshmen over the years have you seen a similar problem out of, Larry?

I tend to think he'll get over it.

Plenty of them. I think each class always has 4-5 kids that end up not working as hard as required to be successful at this level. Its all about motivation toward football and school that makes players successful in the SEC. Those that are not successful, typical its because they don't pay attention to those things that make them successful. Many ahve great talent as well.

James Banks

Chris Donald

LeMarcus Coker

Daniel Brooks

Honestly, I could name over a hundred just from this decade, maybe more..

Point taken. I just hope he ends up more like Gerald Riggs than the other guys on that list. Call me an optimist. :)
