To be fair I think they may have been rated #9 in the Coaches poll at the time. I can't be bothered enough to look up that information though. Besides, I think most would agree AP is the most important one.

Neal Brown is a good up-and-comer. A lot of candidates would have to turn us down before we go knocking on that door. Still would be a decent gamble. Troy's looking at maybe 1 loss this season, that would be 2 straight 10+ seasons at Troy - nothing to scoff at - Troy has only had 1 10 win season since they joined D1 which was Neal's 2nd season as a HC...future looks bright for him as a HC, IMO.

Campbell is an excellent coach. I followed him and Doeren when the MAC was doing the Wednesday night thing, don't recall him making many tactical errors. And anybody that thinks UT is going to write a blank check for a replacement is loony.

No letdown for Campbell after the best program win. Instead he had his team come out and handle success with one of the best defensive efforts in ISU history giving up only 106 yards and 0 pts.

Pitt won a national championship by hiring an up and coming coach from Iowa State. He then came to Tennessee and rebuilt our program.

Let's see how he does against Patterson and the Horned Frogs next week. Not sure about Herbstreits tack record with coaching recommendations. He didn't say where Campbell would be a good fit.

WOW, I LOVE IT TBH. This guy had Toledo competing with the big boys, and that is where the worlds best and most legendary coaches come out of. It is ground zero for coaches. The current toledo coach candle is also getting a LOT of looks right now. And now, he is doing it at I.S. He can develop and coach in game like no bodies business. he is a high octane coach.... I LOVE IT!
