Columbia was a powerhouse in basketball when I was a kid growing up. Columbia has fallen off bc a lot of talent is wasted with a awful coach and kids just not playing. When Coach Collie left in 2003 the basketball program fell off the map. I was a freshman at Columbia when Fred Sparkman was a senior. He got kicked off UNC after leading the ACC in tackles through the first couple of games as a true freshman. He went to Shaw University which is in the CIAA. I know he played for the Nashville Storm recently. The junior pitcher is Hayden Stone and he is legit. Miss State is after him pretty hard. CDS needs to get in on him fast. Columbia does always have tons of athletes and talent. A lot of it gets wasted for various reasons.

Do I know you? I graduated from Tech in May of 2010.

Chapel Hill...home of Henry Horton golf course. Was over there back in July. There is a little store right up the road there that has something weird going on in the bathroom. Can't remember the details of that setup.

Wait, is that too much information?

I used to play the Finley course in Chapel Hill with my dad back in the mid-late 90's. This was before Tom Fazio did the redesign. It was a nice course to play and pretty inexpensive.

I'm still at Tech. I have been here for almost 6 years haha. I graduate next week in accounting.

Nice, not sure if I knew you. Name is Joshua Evans. I was a residential assistant and a Kappa Sigma. Went to Chi Alpha on Wednesday nights. I dunno, I'm sure I'd recognize you.

We had PM privileges!?

I married a Winchester girl so I do live there now. I'm trying to get ole Phil Fulmer to officially retire and move back home to Franklin County. He needs to get away from the football office up on the hill.

I grew up in Manchester so I don't know the Franklin County natives very well. But my wife does.

Awesome. My sister currently lives in Manchester. Around what age are u and ur wife? Just curious if I might know her...maiden name?

? was Milan, who was beat like a drum by the CAK team....interesting that they were even playing each other....so much for fairness and sportsmanship.....bye the way, Milan had two players on the Ky team that beat us this year.....

A bit off topic, here along the same vein...

In Cookeville last weekend, we had these matchups among the big schools (no slight intended to the little schools...I just didn't see their games)

Henry Co & Powell
Whitehaven & Maryville
Ensworth & Baylor
Greenesville & Nashville something (East maybe?)
CAK & ?

All those good teams...and I don't think the Vols were recruiting any kids off any of those teams....(besides the one lineman from Henry County). Seems like we have lost our way or something
Milan ! :salute::

Henry County has some talent there.. Jelks sadly committed to Vanderbilt but there are a few other D1 players on their team (D1 but probably not SEC caliber). Powell has a running back that I think is currently committed to KY and he really is a beast.. Mobley is his name I believe. He broke the state record this year for rushing yards in one season and didn't even get an invite to the Mr. Football Awards. I really wish TN would of tried to recruit him. I really think he's got something special. Henry County played Memphis Ridgeway a few weeks before the championship and that Ridgeway team had 3 SEC caliber players that were being recruited by Auburn, Bama, Ms. State, and a few ACC schools too. They were some athletes but they were no where near as good as Powell's running back.. Kid is a beast. Glad to see Henry County bring home their first State Championship!! Go Patriots and Go Vols!

Ps. that QB from CAK... WOW! Next Tyler Bray???

I prefer Peyton manning to joey Matthews and raynoch Thompson to chris donald.

Our kickers from TN and al Wilson and Chad clifton and lots of other jackson guys are great.

We have had lots of all heart TN misses.

I love walk ons who are local getting a ship.

I also think plenty of high school kids get a posse and a wrong crowd and it helps them to get away from it.

I have tons of respect for coach quarles in maryville but Tyler maples and aaron douglas did not work out well for us.
